Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

    It's been a whole year since I lost my girls to cancer. Thumper died at home on December 2nd and Angel had to be put to sleep on Dec. 6th, I still miss them very much, they were my babies. Thumper was 10 and part aussie shepherd and shar pei, Angel was 9 1/2 and was an aussie shepherd/lab mix.      We can hold them in our arms for only a short time -  in our hearts forever.

    I'm very sorry and I know that even after a year, you probably feel great sadness and loss but it will get easier with time. The memorial you created for them is lovely.

    What a heartbreaking coincidence to lost two in such a short time.  I lost my Dancer in October last year, and I can't believe it's been a year either.  I like what denise said about only being able to hold them in our arms a short time - I'm sure that, just as Dancer will be in my heart forever, these two special dogs will be in yours.  <<>>

    Time flies, yet goes so slow.   I lost my Michelle almost a year ago also.   Her photo hangs on my fridge (where its been for years).  I kiss it every day and talk to her every night.   How true about holding them in our hearts forever.
