Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

    I usually dedicate this to those who have worked in shelters or in rescues. But I think it fits for all of us. The pets we have loved and lost. And lately, the story of Bernd, to whom someone made a big difference.

    I never really listened to the words of that song until now and it's so fitting,like you said.I always check in before bedtime and I always end up so depressed reading about these tragic stories.I just can't understand how people can mistreat animals when all they ask for is a little love. Thank God for all these people that do try and help out poor, neglected dogs and try to give them some happiness, even if it is for only a short time.
