Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

     September 10th was the day that Butch crossed the rainbow bridge.  He was a 10 year old Chi mix.  He was out in the yard with my Mawmaw when 3 dogs ran by and grabbed Butch and took off with him.  They had a tug of war match using Butch as the "tug rope"  He was my Pawpaw's dog and when Pawpaw passed away, Butch was all that my Mawmaw had left.  Say some prayers for my Mawmaw, she is really taking this hard.  Run Free Little Butch Angel

     It's a terrible thing to have happen.  The dog catcher has been notified and we learned that Butch wasn't the only dog that these dogs have killed.  It's a very sad situation.

     She is pretty torn up about it.  I feel so bad for her but I know that only time will heal her pain.

     I'm so sorry for her loss. Have you told her that he's at the Rainbow Bridge waiting for her, and that he has many new friends there to keep him company? It may help her feel better. Run Free Butch;

    Thanks for everyone's support.  We buried him next to my dad's dog that passed away a year ago.  Butch and Grizzly LOVED to play with each other!  I know that Butch is at the Rainbow Bridge with my Paw-paw and they are both waiting for Maw-maw to join them again.

    What an awful, horrible thing to have happened to poor Butch and your Mawmaw.  Wishing you all comfort and peace for the little guy - he didn't deserve such a tough end.

    I hate that his life ended like it did.  He was a good little dog!  Mawmaw seems a little better now but I know she is still torn up.  Butch was he "snuggle buddy" in bed at night.  She is talking about getting a mini collie.  That's the dog of her dreams.  I am keeping my eyes and ears open for her.

    That's just awful... I'm so sorry about Butch. Hopefully, your mawmaw will be able to open her heart and home to another furry friend. Run Free, Butch.

    How awful!  Poor Butch.  Yes, prayers are coming your way to lift Mawmaw's spirit.  Also, take care of yourself.  This is such a dreadful thing.
