Prayers for Sammie

Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

    Prayers for Sammie

My Moms cat- used to be my cat until I moved out- Sammie, 16+ yrs old, will be going to the bridge this afternoon. He's blind and his kidneys are failing, he's still eating and drinking but everything is just running through him or he's puking it up. I'm gonna miss him.

I'm sorry, Stephanie.  It's so hard to say goodbye.   (((hugs)))

Oh gosh, Stephanie, I am so sorry.  Sammie has an awesome place in your heart -- the animal who was "mine" while you were growing up is always so important.  Good thots and prayers for a peaceful passing, and for your Mom and you as you feel alone and lonely for her.

Awww Stephanie {{hugs}} for you and your mom.  Sammie you will be in good hands when you cross the bridge!  No more pain, lots of jumping and playing and sleeping in that special warm sunny spot.

Steph, sorry about your friend.  It's hard to lose a good kitty.  RIP Sammie, enjoy the meadows and the blue skies...

It's really weird losing a pet that you got as a child. I got Sammie when I was 12 (he was a already an adult, we adopted him from our local shelter), so he saw me through middleschool, highschool, prom, grad parties, boyfriends, college, jobs, holidays, birthdays, etc...he watched me grow up.

I so know that feeling.  I got Buster when I was twelve and losing him last year was so hard.  He had been there with me through everything.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Run free Sammie.
