When that pup came over Rainbow Bridge he may have looked around ... rather confused.
"Wow -- how did I get HERE?"
The dogs that were asked to 'be there' for this pup had the ready answer (I'm firmly convinced that at times certain dogs are 'called' to be there to greet special dogs -- simply because they'll "understand";).
A little brown female stepped forward (away from a rather large buffy coat Intrepid English Cocker Spaniel and a MOstlie Sheltie who both stood their nodding sagely) and she said:
"Hi, I'm Brownie. And I felt JUST the same way when I got here. Maybe you NEVER EVER had any human who cared about you??
(the little pit mix shook his head)
Brownie said "Well, yeah -- actually you DID. You just didn't know it. SOMEhow .. maybe even just today ... some human saw you, and loved you. Maybe just right this very minute. But somehow *YOU* made a difference. See my buddies here? Foxy and Muffin? THEIR human saw me one day when I was hurting and nearly gone. She tried to help me even and I ran away from her.
I was scared of humans. But even in that few minutes she loved ME..... ME!!!!! NOBUDDY LOVED ***ME*** not EVER.
But Fox 'n Mufferino say not only did she love me that day that she saw me, but she talked about me to folks on the computer -- dunno what THAT is. But YOU are 'impordant!! HOW cool is that!!
SOMEbuddy cares or you wouldn't be here! This is Rainbow Bridge. There's all sorts of FOOD here, and safe places ta sleep, and no whizzing big things ta hurt you. C'mon ... I'll show ya around!!
And the little brown female nudged her new pit mix friend -- he was surprised he didn't hurt a bit -- felt pretty good really. And she took him down to the River of Life for a drink ... and a roll in the nice green grass.
And lots of dogs nodded to each other because they understood, like Muffin and Foxy that sometimes humans just have big hearts. And Rainbow Bridge is just full of love.
