Rest in peace Tugger

Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

    Rest in peace Tugger

We came home from being on vacation for 2 days to find that our cat Tugger had died while we were away. When we went in to check on the cats Tugger was laying in bed. We thought he was asleep at first.

We don't know why he died. He was only 8 years old. He lost a bit of weight when we brought Cheza home, but that was a normal stress reaction for him. Whenever we moved, brought in a new pet, etc. he always lost weight. He always was fine once he got used to the change. We didn't think anything of it at all. He never got too skinny, and he never looked sick. I feel awful that we didn't know there was something wrong with him. He is at the vet, and hopefully they will find out what was wrong. He is then going to be cremated.

He was the nicest, most affectionate cat I have ever known. He would be waiting for us when we got home from work, and he purred all the time. Everyone who met him loved him.

Run Free Tugger. We are so sorry we didn't help you. We love you.

Salemsmom, I feel so sorry for you and your family, I'm sure Tugger will be missed a lot, he was such a handsome cat.

    Run free handsome Tugger!

I'm so sorry but it's quite possible there was nothing you could've done even if you'd been home. He was young, yes, but it seems that he passed peacefully in the place he would've wanted to be, so try to find comfort in that.

    Run free Tugger

What a beautiful cat he was.  Run free, Tugger

I am so sorry for your unexpected loss.  I too have lost a cat while away from home and it is shocking and distressing in the extreme.  And I have a cat right now who I noticed was getting a bit thin, but he really showed no symptoms of not feeling well so I was stunned to learn it was a tumor and it is inoperable.  Others have offered me comfort saying cats are better at disguising it when they are not feeling well and I think there is some truth to this.  And any animal's sudden passing brings with it a multitude of "What if"s; it takes some time to remember we cannot be with them every minute and we cannot know what they are incapable of telling us.  I hope the necropsy brings some peace and you have even more when Tugger's ashes are returned to you.

He was a very, very beautiful cat; I wish you comfort in your memories and the knowledge he led a happy and contented life and peace for your sweet boy.
