My Dearest Romeo

Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

    My Dearest Romeo

The anniversary of the day I lost my baby is coming up and even though it's been years it feels like months. My Romeo was a special dog. I know everyone thinks that of their dogs but he really was. Everyone that met him loved him. He was so just so sweet u couldn't help but love him. He never misbehaved ever he barely even barked at all and he never got sick. I had him from 10 till 23 and was always there as my best friend no matter how much I went out or didn't pay enough attention to him he still loved me and forgave me and was there for me no matter what. He was my heart and there will never be another him. I just hope he knows how much I appreaciated, loved, and adored him. I also hope he forgives me for my mistakes and understands why I did the things I did. Rest in peace my dear Romeo. I'll love you always. Gone but NEVER forgotten.

    You were blessed.

There are some dogs who are just .... beyond belief.  Sometimes it's that they truly are just plain special ... and some of it is because it was the amagic that occurs between a particular human and a particular dog.  Sort of where the "total" = more than merely the sum of it's parts.  But there's just something that transcends mere speech.

Your Romeo sounds like my Prissy -- the one who "taught" ME everything.  I cringe when I remember some of the bad mistakes I made with her -- but even now, nearly 20 years later I am STILL learning from her.   How did we do *that* thing ... hmmm I wonder if I could do that now? or how SHOULD I have done that?

He **does** know -- I often think of how Prissy must feel when she communicates with other dogs I've loved ... she MUST think "Ha -- *I* taught her THAT!!!"

Thank you for sharing Romeo with us ... you honor his memory!!!
