Angel And Thumper, I lost them both in december

Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

Angel And Thumper, I lost them both in december

This was Angel, she was a 9 1/2 year old aussie shepherd/lab mix. Angel had to be put to sleep due to cancer, kidney disease and heart trouble. She's the second dog I lost in a 4 day span. I miss her very much. Angel 5-27-97-12-6-06. Here's their memorial page I made.

This was Thumper, who was my baby. She was a shar pei/australian shepherd mix. Thumper was the first dog I lost. She died of cancer at the age of 10 1/2 years old. Thumper 6-5-96-12-2-06.

Oh my!  I'm so very sorry for your losses.  Just know that they are full & healthy again @ the Bridge.  You might want to check out the thread called "Rainbow Bridge Welcoming Committee".  You'll find a whole bunch of our fur kids who will take care of your babies until you're reunited with them.

I am so sorry you had to say good-bye to them.  Many years ago I lost a dog and a cat within 2 weeks, so I know how hard it is.  Run free, good friends.

I am so sorry.  To lose one is hard, but to lose both within such a short time span is heart rending.

I am so sorry you lost your beautiful babies. Your tribute page is wonderful.

OMG, two dogs in the same family with cancer?  How sad.  But, that would make me think about what might have caused it.  Do you live on land that might have had pesticides or some other chemical applied to it in the past?  If so, you might want to consider a clean up, or put your dogs in a raised or concrete bottom kennel.  Not saying that's the cause, but it would make me want to investigate just in case, for your health, too.  <<>> to you on such a devastating loss.

So sorry you had to bear such considerable and significant loss in such a short period.  They were beautiful fur kids - clearly happy to be with you in both of those pictures.

Wishing you comfort and peace for Angel and Thumper.

How awful to loose two of your close friends in such a short time.

I'm so sorry you had to face the loss of two dogs at nearly the same time.  Knowing how the death of our beloved dog last year affected me physically and emotionally, I simply can't imagine dealing with two losses.  I think I'd nearly die of heartbreak.  My heart goes out to you.

Run free Angel and Thumper -- I'm glad you have each other for company at the Bridge.  That will be a great comfort to the family you left behind.  [sm=angel.gif]

Yep they both had cancer, Angel also had liver disease and heart trouble. There's no chemicals around here where I live so i'm not sure what caused it. Angel had a less severe case than Thumper, the reason why Angel had to be put to sleep was cause of her kidney and heart trouble, if that wouldn't have been so bad she possibly could've been saved. All of the animals we have are kept in the house but of course get to go outside for walks and playtime.
