I bought a shadow box, and my plan is to fill the background with his photos and insert his collar and tags as sort of a memorial to him. Sorry to hear about your loss. The nice thing about this forum is being able to express your grief around a group of people that understand. I'm just trying to focus on the all the wonderful moments that Laddie and I shared, and not think about his last day. When I do think about it, I start to question if what I did was right, and then the guilt sets in. Just a week before I had to walk Laddie to the bridge we had spent the weekend at a quaint seaside cottage and it turned out to be a weekend of sunshine and walks on the beach. I feel really good about being able to do that, because it was our last trip together, and I was able to add it to my happy memory list. In that time of my life, he and I were meant to be, and because it will never be the same makes those years all that more special to me. That is how much mine and his life were tightly woven together.
