Goodbye Little One

Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

    Goodbye Little One

Although I didn't know you, I felt for you.  An innocent little kitty brought into this world.  One of God's creatures, so sweet and trusting.  I wanted to save you and find someone to love you.  The Vet said it was more humane to let you go.  Now Little One, you will suffer no more, you will run free and have no more pain.  Such a precious Little One you were.  You will be at the Bridge and so many furkids to greet you and play with you.  Take care Baby, although what I did was right, it still hurts to know that you were hurting.

Please say a prayer tonight for the little kitty.  This kitty had a home but the owners refused to seek medical attention.  The intestines were hanging out of this kitty and bugs were all over it.  I took the kitty from the yard and took it to the Vet.  The kitty was very much alert.  I am so sad for the kitty and while I know what I did was right, I hurt for the pain this little kitty must have been feeling.  I had placed a call to Animal Control yesterday and they evidently had not responded.  So I did what I felt best and went back to find the kitty and an angel must have been watching over it because there it sat in the yard.  The Vet couldn't tell whether it was a boy or girl because the intestines were in the way.  So God Bless this little creature.  She/He had long hair and beautiful blue eyes.  I am so saddened by the way some people are.  How can one be so cruel?
Please light a candle tonight and say a prayer for this Baby.

Bless you for helping this poor baby.  It must have been incredibly difficult, but this kitty will be waiting for you at the Bridge for taking care of her when she needed it most.

Run free, little one.  You are whole again.

Awwww, that poor baby.  But how lucky for that little one that your heart is so big!  Thank you for helping him/her.  And yes, that baby WILL welcome you at the Bridge.

You are that little one's very special angel.  Thank you for caring enough to do the right thing and let her go to where she can be happy again.

Bless your heart for watching over this little soul.
Sad how some people can be, karma is the true payback.
Run free at the Bridge little one.

Oh Linda, bless you for helping this little baby.  Compassion was the best gift you could give to this little baby ... this was difficult but there's an angel somewhere with a new kitten hiding under its wings or in its pocket, and Heaven smiles down on such a rare gift of love as you gave this baby.  When asked what 'love' is, this kitty has an answer ... "that lady cried FOR ME!!!"

I guess there's no telling if the his kitty got in a fight and was outmatched. But you are certainly an angel of mercy for taking care of him/her to the end.

Awww, poor little thing.  We'll all pray for the poor thing, and for you.  Thank you for helping to stop his suffering.

The world would be a better place with more angels like you.
Little kitty at least knew that someone cared for her in her short life!
    She will be forever young.
    Rest in Peace little kitty.[sm=angel.gif]

Oh, that poor little baby [:(]. Even if for only a moment in time, that kitty will know that you loved her enough to stop her from hurting.  God bless you and the little one.

Your post breaks my heart.  What is wrong with people that they would let a living creature suffer needlessly?  I'm sorry you had to witness firsthand such cruelty, but I'm so grateful that you helped the sweet little kitten experience the touch of someone with nothing but pure compassion for her.  Even though you couldn't help her experience a long life with a loving caretaker, you were able to prevent her final hours being spent alone and in pain and without dignity.  Both of you are angels.  Bless you.
