Mocha

Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

    Mocha

Mocha passed away Monday morning he was 17 years old. He was my first real pet and my heart cat.

I can still remember the day I first met him he was in the back of my cousin's car she had caught him running around the local flea market and was in need of a home since he didn't like her or her son. We picked him up a few days later at her mom's house he picked me right away as his. He would lay on my homework to demand to be petted and curl up with me at night him on my shoulder purring into my ear and kneading my shoulder. When I broke my ankle he took up the job as being my alert system if I fell or needed help he would give out a strange cry until someone came to help me. He loved to watch Tigger run around the house and chase Eli around the house wrestling all over the place. He would sing to no body like me and had a real sweet tooth from eating the peeps to angel food cake.  Even though I moved out and had to leave him behind he remained my cat and was always eager to see me. At least I got one last night of him sleeping on my shoulder Thanksgiving night. Run free my pooh bear wait for me at the bridge, Tigger will be waiting for you.

Mocha was gorgeous, and lucky to be able to spend his 17 years with a loving owner like you. ((hugs))

I'm so sorry to hear this. It was great though that you got one more night to be with him. Run free gorgeous boy and what a handsome boy you were. He looks to be ragdoll, mix at least, if not pure. I think ragdolls have more coat than Mocha but it's hard to tell for sure from the picture. I don't know if you'd ever thought that. If you haven't before, check out the image links for ragdoll cats.

Not been a good year here either, as I lost 2 dogs and am dealing with a cat with liver disease.

    My Sincere Sympathy,

    Maureen

I'm sorry to hear about your loss of Mocha.  He was very handsome, with beautiful markings.  I'm glad you were able to spend some special time together on Thanksgiving.  Even though you weren't living with him full time anymore, I'm sure that he was a very important part of your life and that his absence leaves a big hole in your heart.  Take care.
