Run free Thor

Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

Thanks Chuffy.  I know that I'll feel better when I can bury him, but at the moment the ground is still frozen a good 5 inches down.

Two weeks ago today we lost our big beautiful boy.  This evening we were finally able to lay him to rest.  He took with him some tennis balls, and a very large piece of our hearts.  And, even tho he's been at the Bridge for two weeks now, the votive is burning for him.

We love you so much Thor.  We miss you.  We will never forget you big guy.

I guess you're right.  We ARE the normal ones and the bulk of society are just, a bit love challenged.

    Amen to that.

Despite missing Thor and my sadness, there is a huge weight lifted from my shoulders that his remains are no longer in the shed, but gently placed very near to Miss Corky.

Ryan recalled a good and funny memory after the burial.  Some of you might remember when Thor and Sheba were youngsters and we had such trouble getting them to potty on the road.  Once we got someplace, be it a campground or whatever, they were fine, but while we traveled, well, forget.  So, DS and I had the two out and we both got very excited when Thor LIFTED HIS LEG!  Except that DS had his foot rather close and *almost* got it pooped on when the big goof dropped a log with his leg lifted!  Good and happy or funny memories are coming more easily now.

I know you needed that closure, {{hugs}}.
