    Xeph's thread....

Nothing to do with moderation, just wanting to ask your take on this is?

Do you really think she did nothing to provoke his parents to kick her out??? Really??

    And OutdoorsChik needs a metal.

well I could have done without trolling through that on a Sunday morning LOL

something very very odd there - just some more er interesting iDog members ay?

    • Gold Top Dog

     Right, Karen?

Not to be a bitch... but, I am anyway.  Let's say you're staying with someone and you want to help around the house. Is bathing and nail trimming the cat a huge priority?  If someone bathed my cat (I had a cat when i was younger) I think I"d actually be kind of upset, cats are clean creatures and they don't need regular baths. Heck if someone just randomly washed my dogs, I'd be kinda upset, too. That's personal space, maybe I'm just weird, though?  If someone was staying with me and they offered to bathe the cat, I probably would have said "no thanks" but if you wanna help out with vacuuming, dusting, cleaning in general... maybe dishes?... awesome!

It's just a very, very odd story. And any help/suggestions anyone offer she bats away.

And outdoorschick needs a MEDAL, not metal ... sorry, that post was at the end of a long day! LOL

LOL yea bathing the cats um weird

My guess is that she is a mess (not just messy if you know what I mean) she brings a dog in heat and an intact male and I have always gotten the impression that she wasn't a workaholic.

Aren't homes everywhere hundreds of thousands??  And for real if the only job you can get in the NE is min wage something is wrong.  They pay better for everything

    • Gold Top Dog

What bugs me is... why is her BF's family requesting she get a job?  Why isn't that something she thought of by herself?  A little bit of forethought and consideration goes a long way when you are a guest in someone's home. Getting a job should have been priority one, w or w/o their request and bathing a cat does not constitute helping around the house.

I don't mind the minimum wage thing so much... in this economy a job is a job, but it's the lack of self starting.  I know she has emotional issues and isn't well in many ways (with the turrets, I am wondering what  kind of job she really is capable of getting?) I feel badly she's in such a sh*t situation, it must be beyond suck.

I'm not sure why Strauss isn't neutered.... he's a therapy dog, yes, but is she breeding him? Allow me to assure you having an intact male and a bitch in heat is NO fun for anyone in your OWN home, I cannot imagine dealing with it in someone elses.  OMG, just thinking about it makes me uncomfortable...  I guess I may have answered my own question.  That alone maybe reason enough to kick her out.  If it weren't my house, there were times I would have left!! LOL

My instinct is his parents are afraid of her emotional/psychological problems and therefore don't talk to her rationally about them.  (ie, WHY they want her out, why they are upset by the dogs or anything else.)  I think they just want her OUT - partly because of the dogs, partly because she brings a fairly unstable energy to any home - especially coming out of her recent circumstances.  I'm quite sure she's been saying "I just want to go home" often enough around them, that they'd rather just get her out and back where she wants to go.

Why yesterday was the deadline, who knows.  Maybe mom & dad just don't want to enter another work week with no sleep after the dogs have been making a racket?  Dunno.  Sounds like Jon is afraid to tell Xeph the truth, too - I fully suspect his parents are telling him more than she is aware of.  Maybe something along the lines of "are you sure you want to marry this woman?"  Not like he's going to tell Xeph that...

Just a heads up if you haven't checked in for a bit. Someone named TTTT who has never posted before said "Two sides to every story. Co Ownership" on the thread... not a big deal, but that's a fairly informed post for a newbie.  Then Chelsea obviously didn't read the whole saga.  I don't think it should become a problem, but if it does (I'll be gone most of the day) just pop in and maybe let people know to keep personal things off the forum (for example if TTTT and Xeph start getting into a p*ssing match.) Personally I think TTTT maybe onto something there :)  But, who knows the truth.  I will say if someone co-owned one of my dogs had that drama happen and then ditch the dog (with a stranger) ... I think I'd be partial to taking my dog back, too.

I want people to let this thread die.  DIE THREAD! DIE! :) hehehehe

Warning posted.  I'm OK with a lot, but this is starting to get too personal. PM sent (see below):

      Hi TTTT,

Welcome to the board, I hope you'll wander over and introduce yourself and your dogs to our board! :)

I understand that the Xeph drama has been made public, via Xeph herself as well as her posting a lot of personal stuff which gives me pause for consideration (ie. I don't think I'd be comfortable posting so much private info on a public board... but, to each their own :)  and it sounds like you are very in the know about this situation.  I'm sure you can see my posts on the subject (on Xeph's thread) can give an idea of my personal opinions on the matter :)

However it is a public board, and as a Moderator it's board rules I uphold.. and we'd like keep private things private.  Xeph revealing info about herself is one thing, someone else revealing private info about another member is not allowed for obvious reasons.

I'm really sorry to hear about the whole situation. Sounds like it could have ended in a very different way, but hind sight is 20/20.

I appreciate you finding us, though.  I hope you will stick around and make yourself comfortable, in general we are a very nice place to hang out.

    Best to you,

    Lani - Moderator

Please keep an eye on this. Xeph will not be able to stay away.

oh, gee, fun!  Sorry Lani got stuck modding that one.  I have not had access to the computer since yesterday early.

Hopefully Lani's note to TTTT and in the thread will squash some of the randoms.  If we respond on other threads, perhaps Xeph's will end up on page 2 and become a distant memory.
