General Chat has become a dumpster

I keep moving threads out of there - and Abbeyroad Whatever her userID is... needs to find something to talk about EVERY frickin day and plop it into General Chat.

I'm aware this is nothing new, that people just use General Chat for everything... but, geez....  We have a whole nice section for Crate Training... why I had to move threads over there is... not worth thinking about, I guess.

    Rant over... Super Angry

For the LOVE OF GOD.... this stupid woman is buying another pet off the internet, and naming it after a dessert.  I think she has both a social disorder and an eating disorder.  Please stop me from saying "How about naming the cat Fudge?  Or Cinnabun"  (Karen, I don't think you were around for that, but she got a puppy from a breeder online, named it Cinnabun, complained that it didn't match her personality or her other dogs', so she returned it.  Then bought another puppy, named it Fudge, and that didn't last long, either.  Then she got the Chihuahua... I'm surprised it's still there.  Now a cat... ACK!)

if griffinej can't stop whining about her horrendous, painful, hideous, life-changingly bad experiences with this stupid tamiflu, I might bite her head off.  lmichelle was sick with the actual flu, ya know.  But you didn't see her whining every single post in Mindless Chatter.

     LOL -- OK, OK!

I'm back after an extended break.  Dog show all weekend (Kaylie's first show, she won her class 6-9 months followed by taking the points today!!  She damned near took Breed over a couple of Specials, too! I handled her, so it was an extra special weekend :) Logan didn't show, but it would have been fun for him to win Breed and her to win Winners/Opposite Sex!! :)  Next time!! hehehe

I'll try to pop in more, I think I needed some time away from the forum and the general whinging of idiots.

I've come to the conclusion this weekend, while dog people are generally GOOD people.  Dog sports and dog people seem to recruit socially inept idiots.  It's like a dysfunctional church.  Not trying to dig at churches, but having grown up in one I have seen first hand how co-dependent, socially retarded many of the people are.  Now that I'm into dogs... I see that same type of dysfunction mirrored here.

We have one of the largest dog forums around -- thus, we have a lot of co-dependent, socially retarded people who can stand atop their soap boxes while facelessly and often namelessly and thus SAFELY behind their computer screens.  As the poor saps in charge of keeping the peace we are bound to need to vent.... often.

So what I'm saying is, VENT AWAY!! :)

Breaking news it isn't just churches and dog people - they are bleeding EVERYWHERE  - um yes that sort of day!

Congrats to you Kaylie and Logan Big Smile

I think if I could have I should have sent B to Ann Spiritdogs when he was 6-18 mos old.  Had she had that experience perhaps her 'tude towards any type of physical training tool wouldn't be as it is.  She also would likely have lost all use of her fingers so couldn't type - not a bad thing Devil

Karen, I heart you....  I realize I come off like a know-it-all sometimes, but, geezuz in July!

Talk to trainers who don't own Aussies.  Really experienced, knowledgeable, balanced trainers will say something pretty informative about the trainers who choose Aussies....

oh, and heads up - she's back in the ecollar thread getting ready to reply to something.  ugh.

You know I ALWAYS admit I am not a trained dog owner in the way that you and so many others on the board are BUT I am a very bright person who always tries to rise to challenges.  B has been a BIG - in every way - challenge. I have read, worked, gone on training courses, tried darn near anything that made sense and came from someone with greater experience/knowledge than me with him.  And I know I normally post his transgressions but he is an amazing dog now in so many ways. BUT seriously 7 people have told me they would have returned him, 3 trainers have said glad he's yours (two of which loved him but didn't want to live with him LOL), the rehab people yesterday were stunned by his strength and obstinate nature.  Ann however thinks if I swing roast beef in front of him he will do what I like because he is a lab/pit mix.  And no 'aversives' like the dreaded e-collar or prong.  She can't be serious.

Need to make dinner or I could go one LOL - yes she peeves me Wink

Halloween Swap thread - know how to un-pin it?  It hasn't seen activity in a while, and when I went to edit it the other night, Stickiness was not an option.  (although, come to think of it, I might have been doing it at home rather than work, so my compatibility mode might have reverted back.. dunno.)

just looked - no stickiness option

    Lani

Yoohoo Lani - you stickied it how do we un-sticky?

    • Gold Top Dog

So weird! No Sticky options for me, either.  WTF?  I'll try on my other computer tomorrow... see if it works there.

Sorry -- I have some intense stuff going on over here right now.  I am more than slightly pre-occupied. Cropped up yesterday, I'll dig my way through it soon.

    How are you Paige?

How is Bugs, Karen?  How are YOU hanging in there?

Um, this may not be the right thing to say - but I really hope that is work stuff, and not dog stuff.  Want a call tonight, or would you rather not talk about it at all? (HUGS)... and *passes giant brownie*

I'm good - very peppy today!  Mint M&Ms do that to me, it appears.  SPAM, however, does not.  There were a few IDs I've been avoiding approving, and one cropped up today to post that photo contest.  I wanted to reply to one user waiting for approval, because she set up two accounts for herself, but I'm of the same mind that I do NOT want a message being sent from my private email.  Need a general dog.com addy, I think.  Maybe a Laurissa suggestion.  Blogs are still active, so I'm holding off on asking too much more from her.

I'm tired of Anne and poodleownd in the ecollar thread.  Debate application, not theory to me.  Theory is for p*$$ies who are afraid to try. lol

uhm.... wondering how this id got approved: http://forum.dog.com/members/tetracycline/default.aspx  I'm watching it, as they're editing their profile now.  If a giant drug ad appears, it's getting banned.

That was fast - a giant ad.  Just removed all their links, blocked their posts from being displayed, and banned them.  DAMNIT!
