Ummmm. Wow. I just read what I'm guessing to be the "last straw" for both sides and I found the EDITED version unpleasant and upsetting.
No one knows what might have been said privately and unless the policy of the forum has changed greatly, no one ever will. I personally got some pretty hair curling pm's when I edited posts that were any number of violations of the rules and quite honestly, no one should ever have to deal with that kind of abuse. We do NOT know the whole story behind this action.
We are a pretty passionate bunch of folks, and sometimes passions run high and we all get a little too animated. And sometimes mods need to step in to keep things from getting unredeemably nasty. We are all adults and can't expect that everything that flows through our fingers, especially when we are in a passionate state, is going to be AOK. Yes, it should be, because we all should self moderate and step away from the computer when we are feeling a bit too passionate. And if we don't, then we need to act like grown ups and take our lumps and red ink without getting nasty. I don't know if that happened here or not, but, in my experience it DOES happen.
There's an awful lot of fussing about edits and red ink, but the bottom line is that we all know what the rules are and if we don't like them we shouldn't be posting here. Having many times been frustrated by forum members who stepped over the line repeatedly, I know all too well that Jaime is ALWAYS fair to a fault. And no amount of chest beating or begging is going to get her to take action until and unless SHE feels it is truly justified. She's got a pretty strict set of personal rules and takes an awful lot of crap before she takes action and ANYONE who has been with this forum for any length of time should know that.
I'm not taking any sides here......BUT.....more happened than any of us know for this action to have been taken. And I base that opinion on my experience on both sides of the fence.
