I have been trashed in this thread for speakin my mind of which I will CONTINUE to speak and you can KISS MY ASS!

You can also take that to the moderators if you want to. I do not eport people as I am old enough to take comments and respond back to them. If you choose to take this to your little group of MODERATORS then make sure you let them know that I only responded to the thread.

My smart comment was an actual, I feel...legitimate request, which I have explained.

I am having Kate look over the entire thread to see what if anything she feels should be edited. So hopefully that can go a bit of the way to helping you feel less trashed for posting your feelings on the matter. I am fine with and will abide all decisions made by Admin re: edits etc.

I have not edited anything, as I have participated on the thread. I did not ask you to remove it....I simply stated there was no need to bait further.

I am leaving the edits if any...for the Admin to do when they can, to avoid any issues with favoritism or bias. Just wanted to let you know that perhaps it's best to take a break until Admin has time to check over the thread, and make some determinations on it.

Holy S*it!  What an ugly thread.  I just went and read it Gina and I did put in a mods note to remain civil.

I've been around long enough to have seen MY civil rights eroded by the behavior of others.  Once upon a time you could actually go onto the airplane and help your loved one get settled in and then get off before the flight departed.  Now you can't even get near the freaking gate.  And it doesn't matter if you only say, see your blond son once a year.....he has to go and sit at the gate for more than an hour while you sit on YOUR side of the gate  My only comment per the thread is going to be that it's sad that FEAR has changed so many lives.  it's sad that we've come to that place.

I do have to agree that a tiny part of me bristles when my BLOND son, dressed in a sport jacket is searched while a muslim looking person is not.  Or some old lady of any color.  BUT, that's as far as it goes.  I bristle and don't understand why they would target someone so obviously NOT a terrorist.  But, then, I didn't expect the white bread MI militia to blow up a federal building in OK either.

Her attitude smacks of "all muslims are terrorists" which is on the same ignorant level as saying, gee, all black men want to rape white women, they are all lazy, all mexicans are lazy and just want to suck off the US welfare system, all jews are tightwads and would let their own mothers starve to save a nickle, all white people feel entitled because they are white.  Yep, she seems like she IS a bigot.  And she absolutely was baiting in that thread.

As for her response to your PM, and her total disrespect for you and the moderators as a group, I'm sorry, but she deserves a little vacation for that kind of total defiance and disrespect.  I don't care if you were involved in the thread or not.  You were not disrespectful to her, although others were a bit. She PM'd as a mod with a legit request. She blasted back with rudeness and vulgarity.  This should not be acceptable.

I fully support a suspension for this type of behavior.

I will go and read the thread now, but she's getting a formal warning for the "kiss my ass" comment.  We wouldn't take that from certain other members I can think of, so not from her either.

I edited the comments in caps and left the rest.  A lot of it is harsh and very ugly, but there are times when I think it's better to know the people you're communicating with, and know their opinions.   

Well she didn't like the warning, but oh well.   

what exactly, did she expect upon telling another member to kiss her a**? Let alone a moderator?

Staff here invest a lot of time keeping the forums a pleasant place to be.  It is written nowhere that members have to like us, but we have to make decisions and those decisions need to be respected.  If you have a problem with a moderator your biggest weapon is being respectful in the dispute.  You are also welcome to come to me.

You are being given a formal warning for the above quoted comment.  Continued behavior of this type will result in your membership of this community being reevaluated.

I do not retract my statement at RWbeagles and still feel quiet the same way about it. ban me if you wish. I do find it interesting that my comment was edited but all the others were okay.

There are a great many comments on that thread I do not view as okay.  Yours was removed because it was obviously intended to bait, and did not share a personal opinion, all the rest were left, including comments of yours and others that I would normally remove, because they were at least putting forth a personal belief.  That doesn't mean I thought they were OK, and don't much appreciate the assumption. 

I will not ban you...all members get 3 formal warnings before such action is taken.  If you aren't particularly concerned with being able to participate here, perhaps removing yourself from the forums by your own choice is an option to consider for your own happiness.

I have no intention of removing myself from the forum. If there is anything this forum needs it is a few people willing to speak their mind. I was suprised at the emails received supporting my viewpoint although most had been unwilling to put it in a thread.

 

I have no problem with what occured in the thread or even with being called a bigot. My problem comes when I am singled out for inappropriate behavior based on others inability to understand and jumping to conclusions that just because I have no problem with a muslim being searched at an airport because he fits the profile of other muslims who have commited acts of terrorism agaisnt aircraft, that I hate all muslims and wish them dead or imprisioned. I feel that rwbeagles got a little put out by my comments and used her status as moderator to let me know that.

All staff here, when speaking AS a member of staff, make it clear that they are doing so.  We preface any post we are making as a mod/admin with "Moderator speaking" or similar.  I can assure you that rwbeagles was at no point using her position to force her point of view on anybody.  Staff have always been, and will always be, free to share their own opinions on any subject, separate from our positions here.

Gee.  I miss all the good stuff.  That's what I get for going to the doctor.  That and orders to get my boobs squished for a mammo and a tube stuck up my, errr, backside for a colonoscopy.  It was only ONE polop (which I can't spell) and it was benign and it was 5 freaking years ago......now that want to go hunting up there yet again.  S*it....which is, I suspect what I'll be doing for a full 24 hours before the stupid colonoscopy.  I should have stayed home and wrecked havoc on the forum.
