Sorry that happened to you, I know I have had a couple of posts "vanish" but since I am not all that cyber smart it never worries me   but to try an help and get a reply that seemed rude is really rough. Hang in there, may be, just maybe your post while 1000% well intentioned just didn't read the way you had meant?  I have noticed it is easy for folks to misunderstand tone , etc in the cyber world.  Keep up the good thoughts and try not to let the misunderstanding get you down.

Hold on a sec.  I pm'd this member and nicely asked her to delete her post since the two week old pups that rats was trying to save had died.  I asked this to protect rats feelings since I know she was upset by the loss.  I wasn't rude.  And, this member pm'd me back and said she didn't know how to change it.  I was just looking for the thread to delete her post, out of consideration for rats, and after pm'ing this member back to let her know I'd take it out, when I saw this.

To the OP, I'm sorry that you fond my email rude.  I was simply trying to protect a fellow member from unnecessary pain by asking you to remove your post.

OK, I JUST deleted this myself.  And again, not because I was being rude or mean, but to protect rats from further pain.

I had originally written something like:

"It seems to me that the OP has a right to post to an open thread on a public forum, and that it's sad to have them feeling put out due to PM dallying.

I'd like to suggest that if posting to a thread is unwelcome, it could be locked or closed, or an announcement could be made. "

I don't know I just happened to be looking around here and saw this.  So, for what it's worth even though the animals have passed maybe rats would have wanted to know that someone else was trying to help her.

Glenda, you don't indicate that the post in question violated any rules so, I am assuming, it didn't.  A slippery slope, indeed.

Let's say I am an ardent supporter of President Bush.  Will you now start deleting any posts that are anti-Bush, in the interest of protecting my delicate feelings?

I'm offended by stupid and unintelligent posts...I would hope they could be deleted as well so my feelings aren't hurt

Enough.  This thread does not need to turn into a train wreck.  Everyone makes mistakes sometimes, it is a measure of us all if we can pick up and move on.  If anyone has any further concerns on this issue they are welcome to contact me.
