I'm inclined to agree.  If I were to respond to him I'd want to tell him to pull the stick out of his rear and stop being so uptight about everything......and that certainly wouldn't be the proper response!

I'm thinking that Gina will suggest just the standard "thank you for sharing your concerns.  I have forwarded them to Admin."

But Gina is a whole lot more PC than I am!

Thank you for raising your concerns via the report feature.  We are still in the process of determining the best uses for the site profanity filter, and by extension what words or symbols people may use to get their point across.  Admins have the final say in this as it is only them who can make any changes, and unless and until those changes occur there are going to be times when people resort to other methods to make their meaning clear.  I will raise your concern with Admin later today.

For the record, would you find the word itself, rather than the symbol, in better taste?

I removed it folks....think about it this way...would we allow a PHOTO of breasts bare...to be used in place of the word? I don't think so. It is crass and IMO that and the butthole and butt one are inappropriate for what Jaime has said she wanted this to be...a "family forum".

I hope y'all do not mind overmuch but I am thinking about it like a photo...which really..it is. Because it's cutesy isn't an excuse...they have many cute smileys flashing their b*reasts and doing well..far worse than that...those wouldn't be acceptable to use here, either.

I don't mind at all.  I try to temper my reaction to stuff with the fact that I'm an old fart and try to NOT react as such.

Where the heck IS Admin?  Jaime's showing still?  But what about Jill B?  I haven't seen her on in ages.  I don't have a direct email addy for Jill like I do for Jaime.  Don't we kind of need someone steering the ship?  There are decisions that we can't make....luckily for espencer......and we kind of need a "final authority" on stuff.  All these things that we "forward to admin" do have to be addressed in some sort of timely manner.

And while I'm griping....it sure would be nice to get notifications consistently.  I've been asking for that to be fixed for ages and it really makes it hard to moderate when I can't find what's going on.  Just thot I'd toss that one in for the heck of it.

Jaime's Nats ended either yesterday or today I think...so she'd be home after that. Jill I have seen on and emailed with once this week. Kate posted her email in another thread...I forget which tho...

She is around...but they may have things set up where one handles x and the other handles y and they both have other things to do aside from monitor here. That kinda sucks but I can dig it...

I have emailed.  Repeatedly.  But, it took him a couple weeks to even answer when I was unable to post.  I figured that sooner or later if I kept posting with nothing in the post someone would figure out I needed some help!  BUT, I could moderate.  How wierd was that?  And perhaps thats why it didn't get much priority...because I could still mod, just couldn't post as me.  But this issue, well, it's just been ongoing  for weeks and I'm not getting a response.

Do you have and will you share Jill's email addy please?

It's too bad that both have their own full time jobs to do and still try to admin the forum.....I'm sure that it stretches both a bit thin.
