Where's the Evidence? (And please stay on topic)

THIS THREAD IS LOCKED PENDING ADMIN REVIEW.  Thank you for your patience.

I would like to see hard scientific evidence supporting the methods used by Cesar Millan versus the methods that are supported by groups like AVSAB.  I have Googled my head off and can find nothing in any journal of veterinary medicine or behavior, or on any site that specifically cites research that proves his methods are either helpful or scientifically sound.

This is a thread, where, if you can cite specific studies, please do.  Where are the studies?  Where is the evidence???  This is NOT a thread for supposition, anecdotes, or your experiences with your own, or someone else's dogs.  I really want to see double blind studies, research, ***evidence*** for what he does.  If you can't supply that, in the form of peer reviewed or legitimate studies, I will hit the report key for you being off topic.  If you can cite a study, we can certainly discuss it at length.  I know that full length studies are hard to come by, since most of the sites ask you to pay, but if you have a membership and can at least paraphrase the conclusions, that would be helpful for me to decide whether to buy the full article or not.

Have you found evidence that disproves what he does?

What's up w/ all the CM and punishment threads recently? We all know you and espencer have a beef about this stuff, and basically this will probably turn into a thread w/ the 2 of you agreeing to disagree (after taking cheap shots at each other). Am I the only one getting tired of it? I like you a lot Anne and totally respect you, you don't have to prove anything to me.

    Excellent post. And I agree.

I will also add that your frustration shows. Threatening other posters with reporting if they don't do what you want is low, even for you.

Don't bother reporting me, I did it for you.

The true loss is that so few feel comfortable posting in these training/behavior threads.  I'm not a cult follower of anyone.   I see training as an ongoing learning process and one way of learning is a true exchange of ideas and methods.  If people shy away because they use corrections, that leaves no opportunity to share ideas on how to reach training goals through different methods.

Why isn't the numbers of dog owners who feel CM has helped them evidence enough?
