I really fell for the Austrailian terriers, I think they're quite striking.
I'm also developing a fondness for the Bedlingtons (sp?)
But I've always loved the Bull Terriers (think Rufus from Westminster or Spudz Mckenzie)

But I can honestly say that I would not be a good terrier owner, so I'll just admire them from afar, or near if any stroll by me.

Rat Terrier... most definitely. No competition. =P

I also like APBTs (I'm handling a couple in a few months), Bedlingtons, SFTs, PRTs and Patterdales...

Also wanted to note that no purebred Jack Russell/Parson have erect ears. =P *cough...*

I disagree with the ear down thing. I have seen Jacks with both ears up, both down and one up and one down.
Sweet Pea usually has one up and one down and sometimes they are both up.
I just did a google images search and the ears vary.
Sweet Peas both parents had ears down but her ears change with the wind. I like the one up one down look .

    Sure, they do.

No correct JRT has prick ears, as they're a disqualifying fault, in the show ring. Improper size, coat, and coloring are all DQs, too, but purebreds have them, or they wouldn't be mentioned in the standard.
    • Puppy
Things like that are mentioned in standards often. For example, many standards may say Merle is a disqualification if it's often seen in puppy mills and the such. Just because someone tampers and breeds it in doesn't mean it's natural to the breed.

Natural? Natural would be a grey or red dog, with prick ears, weighing around 40-120 pounds, eating carrion and fresh kills, not living in a house.

Things occur in breeds that shouldn't, per the standard. It's genetics. It doesn't mean that the dogs aren't purebred.

JRT are a type, not a breed. They don't breed true. Stuff happens.

Cairns get my vote...my little Zoey is a Cairn X.  She'll be 1 year old in a few weeks. She's a cutie...so, when I figure out how to add a photo, I'll show her off to you all.
