Golden Retriever breeder help

• Golden Retriever breeder help stormyknight Posted : 12/11/2008 8:06:11 PM A family member has decided to get a golden retriever. Despite my best attempts, they are convinced that a dog coming from a shelter is "damaged," and they want a purebred pup. I am going to try to help them buy from a breeder responsibly. Does anyone know of responsible golden breeders in the midwest? They only need a pet quality dog, perhaps one to do obedience or agility with, but mostly just a good family pet. • luvmyswissy Posted : 12/11/2008 8:21:58 PM I didn't look around but you might want to check out the breed club website http://www.grca.org/.  My club's website has a search function for breeders and they have to meet some standards before they can list themselves.  That would be a good starting point and then they can do their research from there.  It may be a good opportunity for them to familiarize them selfs with the breed, join their forum and ask questions.  There's owners of the breed on Idog as well I am sure they have some good advice.
