German Shepherd mix with what?

    German Shepherd mix with what?

We adopted this dog recently. It's a German Shepherd mix. But with what? She has a spotted tongue. I'm thinking Lab. Some people tell me she might also have some Husky (cos of how her tail curls) and some Chow (cos of spotted tongue). Any ideas anyone?

Shepherd and Akita?  The tail is a bit Akita-ish to me!! BUT VERY CUTE.

I think I see a little Malamute in her build. Don't let the spotted tongue fool you- a lot of breeds can have them.  I knew a full bred Newfoundland who had one, and have heard of quite a few GSD with them, too.  I see a little Lab in your pretty girl's face, too, especially in the expression in her eyes.

She looks like she might have some Yellow Blackmouth Cur in her.  That would explain the spotted tounge.  They are a little more common in the southern states than up north.  I think she might be a Lab/Blackmouth mix with a little something else in her.  Maybe there's some Akita or Husky farther back.  I'm going out on a limb with these uncommon breeds, but she could have a touch of Chinook or of some of the breeds that made the Chinook.

Thanks for all the great guesses :) Took her to the vet today. Ask him if he could give me an idea. He mentioned Lab and maybe Chow. But no Husky cos' her eyes are too brown. Oh well....I guess I'll never really know for sure. That's the fun part about a mutt, eh?

...But no Husky cos' her eyes are too brown...

But Huskies can have brown eyes.  In fact, our Husky/HSD mix had beautiful dark brown eyes.  I think she's too big for a Husky mix, tho, which is why I thought Malamute.  There was something "familar" about her that I couldn't put my finger on the other day.  It his me yesterday- she looks  a little like an Anatolian Shepherd Dog.  She might be a ASD mix, but it depends on how popular they are in the area she came from.  Like Gina says, what you really need to do is to look at the popular breeds in your area and go from there.

I would say Anatolian Shepard... [:D]

Yes, it can be a possibility that she has some Anatolian Shepherd in her as well. I can see the resemblance. That would explain how her tail curls as well. Thanks!!

Ooops!  That should be Husky?GSD.  I'm taking suggestions on what an HSD is!  LOL

Most dogs are just 'Heinz 57's' I dont think you would actually see alot of the mixes that people talk about on here. Maybe a lab/GSD mix bu a lab/Rottie/Catahoula/Spaniel mix? Not likely.

But I will admit that your pup looks very Lab like but i honestly dont see any GSD, can someone help on that one?

Yes, she looks and acts very Lab like. She's also not very big (55 lbs).

From the second pic I can see the lab in her. From the first pic I'm thinking chow   But NO matter what she's mixed with you have a cute dog there.

I definently see some lab in her, though I'm not an expert. It's the ears and face.
