German Shepherd Puppy I need some info

[sm=tex.gif]Hi everyone. I need some info.  I have a 5 month old German Shepherd.  His ears are trying to stand up without much success.  They are still floppy.   I had him to the vet yesterday because of an ear infection.  Vet said must have gotten water in the ear and without them standing there is no air circulation.   I clean his ears twice a week and dry them well.   He said shepherds usually do not get ear infections.  I asked the vet when they will finally be erect.  He said hopefully soon.  Anybody have any advice about this?   When will his ears stand?
    Thanks much,
    Michele [sm=happy.gif][sm=tex.gif]

I think my Thor waited until around 5 months or so before both ears stayed fully erect ALL the time, but any other pups I've had the ears were always up, and staying up by a few months.  Is your pup purebred?  If so, ask the breeder when his parents ears stood up.  That'll be a pretty good indicator.

Were his ears ever up? Did they stand then fall during teething? At 6 months I would consider taping.

They were never fully erect.  He is 5 months today on ear sits across his head and the other sometimes goes the other way.  The vet said I should stimulate his ears with squeaky toys and noises.  I tried that and he just cocks his head.  Every once in a while they stand.  Usually they are just all over the place.  The teething, thats another story.  I can't wait till he loses the canines.  They are like stilettos.  And he still bites and knaws once in a while.  Im really trying to break him of that.  He still "mouths" everything especially feet.  He is so smart, but there is one thing he will not do unless its an emergency is "go" outside.  Believe me I have tried everything.  I bring the puppy pads outside with me.  He still wont go.  He holds it all night 8-10 hours I take him out NOTHING! Any suggestions?  ANYBODY?
    Fondly, Michele
