    Wheaten / Shepard Rescue

I am curious about the opinion of others with Wheatens and Shepards regarding training.
We rescued HoneyBear 12 weeks ago.  She came from a humane society after 2 different owner turn-ins.
She is stubborn.  She is Alpha (especially with me - a lady).
I've been on the Behavior portion of this forum , and have gotten a lot of good advice about her aggressive behaviour.
But, as stated, I am curious as to other owners of these breeds and their thoughts in training her. (Based on their experiences)
    Thanks to all!

My friends have a Wheaten... Wheatens, like most terriers, are independent and can be a little stubborn (as compared to the more doting sporting dogs for eg). You should definitely take a firm, confident leadership role with such a dog. However, as to the specific training techniques I'd say use the same ones you'd use for any breed and tailor them to your individual dog as you go - have you tried clicker training?

Jones- yes, we are in obedience school and we are using the clicker.  She is quite obedient "when she wants to be".   I'm convinced she is a smart girl.
But, to be honest, she has been getting better and more obedient as I have become more and more firm about the results.  Mic has taught me to 'stop hoping she will do it and start expecting her to do it".

Please excuse my spelling error.  I've just realized after 50 years on this planet how to spell German SHEPHERD.
