    I hope to add a Wirehaired Pointing Griffon to my family in the next year or so. I have been researching the breed for some time, and have just begun to contact breeders. They are fairly rare, being most common in the circles of bird hunters.

    Does anyone have any info (good or bad!) about this breed? I'd love to hear anything about them, they are kinda hard to find information about. [8|]

    This won't be too helpful as I don't know much about the breed, but since you asked, I thought I'd share my *very* limited experience with WPGs. [:D] 
     
    There is a young male that lives in our area and is SOOOO handsome (most frowsy/wire coated dogs are not for me, but somehow the WPG really pulls off the look nicely).  He is gentle, friendly, and got along great with my two  males right from the get-go.  Good luck in your search!  Seems like a great breed!     I am having a hard time finding pet owners of this dog to talk to, so it is good to hear they make great non-hunting dogs, too! I hope to get into hunt trials, but since I am not a hunter- I think I will need the training, not the dog, lol!! I have heard they do really well in agility- which is what I am truly interested in.
     
    I love their scruffy good looks. To me, they say 'dog'. [:D]
