sorry i don't have a better one of ruby, the solid black...hard to get goods pics of solid black dogs.
they will be 1 year old next month...they have really matured alot this summer.  snoopy is approx. 24 in. and 58 lbs.
ruby is approx. 22 in. and 45 lbs.  her ears are a little more pendant.  she has alot more "fluff" on her butt and tail than he does.
i've met alot of dogs since having the pups and have ruled out pit and i sometimes even doubt lab...ruby is more golden conformation than lab...or setter.  i've always thought they have different sires...ruby is the only one of the litter that looks like this, the rest look (in shape, not necessarily color) more like snoopy.  thanks for looking.  i always like hearing others thoughts.

i see a mix of border collie, lab, and pit. i especially see lab in Ruby.
The blaze in Snoopy is misleading now that i look at him closer... i see lab there too.
the second picture is where i see SOME BC.. the first picture i see PB.
do they have under bites? thats a PB/Bulldog trait a lot of times.. but it depends just how strong the pit blood really is.
look for webbed feet and extra oily coats, and if she have any herding/wolfy behaviours at all.
and then of course... there is a possibility of Dalmatian being part of the mix.....

in the second picture, for some reason the face seems dane to me.
    thanks for looking!  (again, lol)
there is definitely a hunting/herding mix going on, but sometimes i really doubt the lab...i've, lately, been leaning more toward a setter...ruby is especially fluffy on her butt and tail and backs of her legs.  if she were blonde she could be a mini-golden!  they both do have webbed feet, with large tough pads.  both have front dew claws and snoopy has hind dew claws as well.  his hind dew claws are very loose.  they have a nice straight scissor bite, (is that the correct term?)  no over or under bites.  one day i'll get to see a cur breed in person (catahoula or other type of treeing cur) and i'll be able to compare in person, not in pictures.  they have a HUGE prey drive, but only moderate retrieve interest.  they show interest in birds, squirrels, mice, moths/butterflies, moles, etc.  snoopy can sniff out just about anything!  they also have a high territorial/protective instinct...snoopy will run other dogs out of the yard and then come back.  both will bark at people they don't know when they come to the door.  i presently have snoopy in secondary obedience classes that will lead into tracking training.  ruby is my son's and he wants her to just be a "good hunting dog".  she is very sweet and more affectionate.  thanks again for looking at my "youngest kids".
