ORIGINAL: ColleenC Chihuahua! The tail looks Chi, the face looks BYB Chi, and the body style looks Chi. My guess is that he was someone's special "designer dog" Chiweenie! Once they realized that Dachs are stubborn and hes not just an accessory, they gave him up.

The problem with the fur is common in chocolate doxies. Especially if they are out in the sun a lot. The fur can sometimes turn almost blonde on the ends. There are a few things you can do to help this. Vitamins will help. Miracoat could help too. One thing that I have found that helps is satin balls. I add miracoat into every batch. I'll be happy to give y'all the recipe if wanted.
If this pup is doxie, i would guess chiweenie or maybe minpin X.
