    Wow!  That is a lot of money!  Are there any small Greek breeds that you could look into?  A miniature pincher usually does well in an apartment.  They have a lot of energy, though and a "big dog" attitude. [8|]  They also don't shed very much.

    The Mirmidaki Song is the greatest!  It makes my little grand daughter giggle from the first word!

    there are two greek breeds i found and one is small but i only saw it once its called small greek domestic dog!!can you believe the name??but no more info for that
    propably the pinscher and in the end its not whats outside that counts i will apsolutely adore any four legged creature with a wiggling tail![:D]

    I think that a local breeder will be your best friend any way.  Someone to use as a reference.  My advice is to form a really good relationship with the breeder.  Ask her/him to help you find a puppy with the best temperment for you.  Here is a good general puppy temperment test to give you an idea of what to expect.

    Have her give you as much information about the breed as possible and ask her for a recommendation about where to go for training, etc.

    If you aer a student, my best advice is to pick the breed you really want, and then save your money. (If you can't save money, you don't have the resources to have a dog, unfortunately- vet care is expensive and there's always SOMETHING a dog will need). All small breeds are NOT created equal. I love my corgi and I love a number of other small breeds, but a min pin or a schipperke would drive me insane. They have very different energy levels and personalities, and while personality is an individual thing, certain personality traits do tend to breed true in any breed such as stubbornness, barkiness, energy level- it's not just the physical package.
