    Breed Info...Chows

I adopted a dog that I get to bring home thursday that the pound initially thought may have some Chow in her (this scared me since I have 2 cats and my sister is having a baby soon).  However, once someone inspected her further, they said it was unlikely since the puppy, who is now 9 weeks, has a purely pink tongue with no black or purple spots, and her coat is tri-colored, white black and tan.  Does this sound right, or can a dog have a significant amount of Chow in her and still have a perfectly pink tongue with a tri-colored coat?

    Thanks,

    Jeff

JJ--The coat might not matter but the tongue gives it away.  If she was a chow-mix she'd have some purple spots on her tongue.  If it's perfectly pink, I'd say she doesn't have any chow in her.
