LOL, no, I don't see the face of the Shar Pei you posted in Pearl.  [;)]  I had a chow mix once...and to be honest, I don't see any chow in Pearl.  The chow mix did have smaller ears than a lab, but they weren't thick.

Perhaps I'll just call her the "vacuum dog" and leave it at that.  [:D]

I have to completely agree with rwbeagles.

I used to have a Shar Pei (sadly he's at the rainbow bridge now) and in the very first picture I do see something about her head shape that reminds me of a Pei mix.

And in the one pic her ears do look like little hippo ears! They're very distinctive as far as the shape, the way that they lay and where they're placed on the head. Shadow's ears are a different shape and go back almost like a rose ear. Pearl's ears appear to almost go up like they're weightless. They also don't either come to a pointy tip or fold over like all of the Lab/Chow mix and Lab/Husky mixes pictured.

Also, Shar Pei CAN have fluffy tails. There are 3 different coat types (2 accepted in the AKC showring, 1 is a disqualification). The horsecoat is very smooth and the tail is very skinny looking. The brushcoat is a little fluffier looking with a slightly bushy tail. The bearcoat (the one that's disqualified in the showring) is very fluffy and looks almost like a Chow.

And of course there are also longhaired Shepherds. Pearl is in my opinion some mix of Shar Pei, Shepherd and maybe some other breeds.
