    What is Minsk?

Hi.  I have a male, Shepherd mix named Minsk and was wondering if anyone had some ideas as to what else might be in him?  He is approximately 18 weeks old (just a guess from the shelter) and weighed in at the vet at 22 pounds a few days ago.  He is a very high energy dog, but is totally non-aggressive.  He is great with other dogs and all people including kids.  He gets very barky at the park when he wants the other dogs to play with him, but mercifully he is very quiet at home.  He is a dream on the leash walking behind my left leg and rarely ever pulls.  He does get a bit mouthy and nippy at times, but we are working that out.  He is very smart, and knows his commands, but sometimes is only in it for the treats (LOL).  Anyways, any ideas?

Honestly? I don't see much, if any, GSD in him. He sure is a cute boy!!! It'll be interesting to see what he looks like, as an adult. It's hard to tell, with puppies, sometimes.

I don't see much GSD in him either, except maybe in the eyes.  He looks, to me, to have some pittie or other type of bully dog in him.  He's adorable!

Shepherd very often gives mixes that grizzled look to the coat (what other breed does??), so I think it's highly likely that he's some Sheperd in him.  The darker muzzle also is a good indicator as well as the overall body shape (he's pretty lanky and long-legged).  As for the other part of him, something in me is saying Rottie (he's got lighter points above his eyes); to be honest I don't see any bully breed in him, but I think a Rottie would bulk up a Shepherd's face enough to get the look.  The cheeks would be wider with a bully breed and the muzzle even thicker.  Maybe some Lab as well.  It really is hard to tell without knowing what he's going to look like as an adult.  If only we get just a peek of the future!
