Hi - New here. Is my dog a mix? And with what?

Meet Djuna.  I just adopted her a few weeks ago from a shelter and they told me she's a pit bull mix.  But is she a mix?  I''ve been looking at a lot of photos of pit bulls and her ears seem different, as does the breadth of her chest, but I'm definitely not an expert.  Help?

These are the only pictures I have currently, but I can take more if needed.

Congrats on your new family member.  She's very  cute.  How old is she?  She does look like a mix to me - the ears and her muzzle looks a little longer or thiner than most pitties.

    welcome to the forum!
Djuna almost looks exactly like my Pocket!! Do you have any pictures of her from the side? She looks like she might have a little sighthound in her....

    Super cute [:)]

Whoops - I meant to post her age.  She's 6 months now (5 1/2 in the first pictures).  She's actually grown a bit since I've had her - the guy at the shelter said he thought she would only ;put on about 10 more pounds when she was fully grown, but I have my doubts.

Here a few more pictures I quickly snapped tonight (those marks on her face are from a fungal infection she developed which I'm now treating...poor thing):

    Thanks for the suggestions!

Oh, and someone at the park the other day actually suggested sighthound, too.

I often hear people say that if it's brindle it must be part pittie- not always true!

She is beautiful, I would think she has some sighthound as well, look at thoes long legs and sleek body, she has something mixed in there that's giving her that look. Her face just donesn't have the wide muscle look that pitties tipicaly have. I honestly see more of other breeds than I see pitti.

At 6 mo. it is roughly about 2/3 of the size the dog is going to be but that number varies depending on the breed. You really have a unique dog, so glad you found eachother[;)]

Oh Djuna is so pretty! I'm going to venture a guess and say she's got some greyhound in her? She's definitely got the shape, and I've seen greyhounds with fly-away ears like that [:D]

Here's a pic of my puppy- she's got greyhound and ridgeback in her

    Edited for pics and spelling.

Oh, wow - she's adorable.  (I love brindle!) And Djuna's body type is really similar.

    hehe they could be sisters!

I think also if you ignore the ears, their faces are quite similar too- Pocket's got some staffy in her too, so maybe that's why.
