Small dogs are big

It's weird because my 16 pound dog changes his bark alot.  High pitched for attention and really low pitched when someone threatening walks by.  He has also hurt me on numerous occasions while playing tug of war (he has strong teeth and jaws).  I wonder what he could do to somebody on purpose.

In a survey of hospital emergency rooms, the incidence of dog bites from smaller and toy breeds is much higher-(hospitals have to keep track of such things)-but not for the reasons you would assume.  Little dogs do not hate children, but rather children tend to treat small dogs like stuffed toys and hug and pull and tug way too roughly for the animal to handle and as they are usually being held and can't get away readily-they do what they can to defend themselves-bite and claw.  When you weigh less than ten pounds, you haven't  great many options

Actually, the stupid teacup breeds are very unhealthy because they are so small.  Thanks to Paris Hilton, people think more of their dogs, however, I think she is a terrible owner.  Seriously, she doesn't know the first thing about canines.

As a life long avid dog lover, I hate to hear anyone criticize any dog. Different breeds no matter what size or shape fit the needs and life styles of different people. Thank goodness we have a vast variety to choose from. When I was younger I always had larger dogs (GSD, Goldens, Cockers, Shelties, Pointers, and a few mixed breeds) but since I have gotten older I have found that toy breeds are the right fit for my lifestyle. I can handle them well, they#%92re more economical for me to care for and they are easier for me to take with me on trips. I can no longer manage caring for a larger breed. When people say they dislike small dogs, large dogs, pitts, rotts or whatever, it#%92s usually because they have had a negative experience with a particular breed. Not all small dogs are yappy, hyper ,etc. It's just nice when people respect other's choices in pets..after all..we all love our pets. I appreciate the beauty and attributes and differences of all the breeds. Everyone has their own personal favorites and thats great..that why we can all pick and chose what appeals to our own desires. I'm a sucker for those soulful brown eyes, so many dogs..so little time. :-)
Reputable breeders detest the term “teacup” and the practice of breeding these so called ‘teacup” dogs. A yorkie is a yorkie, a “teacup yorkie” is simply a small yorkie just as a small for standard Dane would not be a considered a miniature Dane.

What I meant by "stupid teacup breeds", are the dogs that are purposely bred to be 1 pound.  They are too small to be healthy.  A 5 pound dog on the other hand, would probably be healthier.  I have first hand experience.  Fritz is very sick and my aunt is going to get another dog eventually.
