• sue fitzpatrick FITZPATRICK Posted : 8/14/2006 2:58:04 PM Hienz did have 57 varieties and the term has been in use since my Grandfather's day back in the late twenties and throughout the depression.  It does mean that you can't really figure out what all went into a dog's background, but they were a mutt.  Kind of funny that all mixed breeds were known as heinz 57 or curbstone setters then, but now they are designer dogs with big price tags-Schnoodles, Cockapoos, Pekapoos, etc. 0 LIKE Like Share You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available.
