I said no but I should add that I do put bandanas on the dogs when we are going to a doggie event or somewhere in public. I have quite a few of them.  Rex had to wear one when we were doing therapy but he has never been comfortable with them.  Twister has two really nice coats with his name on them but doesn't wear them much because we don't get much really cold weather.  He looks really sharp in his red one.

I'll follow Jackie's lead and assume you mean the dogs and not meWinkTo clothe a dog for function [warmth, preventing sunburn, keeping pickers off] sure.To dress a dog in an "outfit"?No way!

I'm willing to put Dahlia in a silly hat or outfit for Christmas or Halloween pictures.  I wouldn't keep her in them for any period of time unless it was something pretty simple (i.e. her jingle bell collar).  Otherwise, forget it.  My dog already has a lovely fur coat, so she doesn't need to be dressed up in anything else.

I voted other. I dress up Rupert mostly for function, not fashion. He has a very short, single coat, and a nakey belly. It gets COLD here in the winter. He has a couple of "sweatshirts" and a couple of jackets. But - he also has some festive bandannas he wears occasionally, and he has worn jingle collars, reindeer antlers, etc. for Christmas pictures, and also costumes for Halloween parties.

I don't think of bandana as dressing up.  I did pick other, tho, because the only time I dress Caleb up is for Halloween.  OK, there was the time we went to a Support the Troops rally and he wore an Air Force Tshirt.  And I did put a paintball reffing jersey on him and took a picture as a joke one day.  Oh, and the crown on his birthday.  Hhmm, maybe I should have chosen only for holidays & special occasions!  LOL

whoops... should have read more carefully before voting. I assumed you meant me... not my dog Embarrassed

that said  - I enjoy dressing myself up for special occasions (as I voted...) but I do not dress up my dog. Maybe he'll wear a jacket when it gets a bit chilly out - but he really doesn't enjoy it much. I've dressed my cat up as santa though... he didn't mind Devil

I voted often. I have a hairless dog. It *is* for function, but it's for fun, too. Emma also likes to play dress up. She wears jingle collars, ruffled collars, and wildly colored attire on a fairly regular basis, just because she's a clown, and she wants to be part of the clothing routine.

My german shepherds would disown me if I tried to put clothing on them!  When we moved from GA to MI in Feb, yeah, I modified a sweatshirt for Sheba because her double coat is no where near as thick as anyone elses.  Most of the time I can get away with a bandana, sometimes no.  The exception is Tyler....he loves to wear a bandana.

I have a Crested. Clothes, as Jennie said, come with the territory. She even has jammies because we keep our house very cool in the winter. The rest of the dogs would murder me in my sleep if I so much as put a reindeer hat on them. Big Smile

I voted other.  I dress my guys up when they need it.  When it's cold, ok cold by Texas standards, I dress everyone.  Shooter & Schatzi get cold easily.  Chyna is getting older & her old joints don't work as well in cold weather.  Bevo, loves to wear clothes, & he does get cold, sometimes.  I have to put something on Brinxx, because if I leave her out, she feels that it's her duty to chew everyone else out of their clothes!

I have actually *dressed* then for our Christmas party.  The girls wore "dresses" and the boys wore tuxedo shirts.  As I recall, everyone except Bevo was quite upset with the situation.  Chyna hid upstairs until DH took the dress off of her.  Brinxx chewed Schatzi free, & then some how freed herself as well.  Shooter rolled around on the floor, in the middle of the guests, trying to get his shirt off.  It sounds terrible, but it really was quite funny.

LOL!  Belle, did this for Rex once when he was fretting about his bandana. Except she doesn't chew the off.  She pulled it off over his head, she'll take his collar off too if I don't have it tight enough. :(  Poor Rex, he puts up with a lot from Belle.

I just couldn't do it. I saw a pug on Youtube pushing a baby stroller in Portland (I think she was dressed up too...kinda funny).  But I just couldn't do it to any dog of mine. We're adopting a dog and should have him here soon.  He's a dachshund. Now I've seen some people put weiner buns on those dogs with mustard down the back...makes me cringe.

I voted 'yes - other'. Pirate wears clothers out of necessity, when it's really chilly or rainy (or the lovely Nor'easter combo of chilly AND rainy).

I voted *other* because all Max ever wears is a bandanna.  He has them for 4th. of July, Christmas, Halloween, etc. and a nice assortment for every day.  He does have one sweater, but this past winter it didn't really get cold enough for him to wear it.
