No, but only because I had the car first...but rest assured one of the criteria for my next car will definitely be its "dog-friendliness".

I bought my honda element for my dogs. At the time I only had two but its been one of the best decisions I've made. I don't have carpet and the seats attach to the walls so I have TONS of cargo space. Plus, I can fit my bike and other sporting equipment inside. When I get dirt inside I just sweep it out and its like a new car. I recommend it for all dog owners.

I just bought a new car last August and it's very non-dog friendly (small, leather) and I'm totally regretting it. I thought it'd be okay because we have the old SUV for dog transport, but I realize now that there are a lot of times DH is working and I only have my car for transport. I already have a plan to trade/sell this car when I retire in 4 yrs. I want to do fostering or rescue work and I will then buy a car with dog transport as a priority.

I didn't, but as it happens Max fits in there quite nicely.  He doesn't spend much time in the car except for the once-in-awhile trip to the dog park or the vet.

THere is always a vehicle specifically selected to be dog friendly and convenient.  We have a dog van at the moment with the last seat folded down and crates.  The stow and go seats make dog events much easier.

We replaced one car with a van - the official doggiemobile- to be able to fit 2 crates in the back and bought a ramp to facilitate entry. When I replace my car, I'll be looking for something in which I can fit 1 crate for emergencies.

Absolutely -- altho my physical limitations had to figure in there as well.  The Honda Element was on my list as well, but the PT Cruiser was more comfortable and driveable for me -- the back seats literally "come out" of the car and it's so easy to load everything up.  I have leather interior but it's easily wiped down so was practical for me (and it had the electric seats I *had* to have to acommodate my hip).  It's not the best on gas, but I absolutely LOVE it for practicality and driveability for us.  It takes the wagon we need for pet therapy and leaves room for the dogs themselves.  Works great for us.

I did! I bought my Accord because I could fit two, 24" crates on the back seat. Now, I show my dogs, and I'm looking for a small SUV, crossover, or (newly developed interest after I drove a friend's) mini van. Now that I have a conformation dog, I'll need stackable crates, a grooming table, etc etc WITH the dogs and luggage in the car.

that said - mine will nicely fit at two smaller crates in the back (the back seats fold down) and I can fit many, many cat carriers in there. Mine is a 2002 Chevy Tracker, and I love it. Not too bad on gas, but not fantastic either. It gets me from A to B, so I'm not complaining

I didn't buy mine for the dogs, but it is really convenient now that I have them.

 I did - Bugsy is just not a backseat dog so went to a wagon - I miss my sporty ride but it's worth it :-)

 my dogs were a major factor in buying a new car.
