I've been lurking here for awhile, so I thought this would be a good place for me to introduce myself and my K9 Kids.
I have 7 dogs total; however, I provide a hospice type set up for geriatric dogs who are no longer wanted by their original families. They are all small breed dogs so I have room for 4 or 5 at a time. Right now there are 4 of them along with our own 3 dogs. My 3 dogs are:
Emili - Malamute/Border Collie 10 yrs old. She is my main girl. I got her at 5 weeks old and have had her through thick and thin.
Ben - Golden Retriever/Chow 10 1/2 yrs old. I adopted him at 1 1/2 years old from the Humane Society. He's a good boy, but much more bonded to my husband.
Marley - Breed unknown but guess it to be a Golden Doodle or something similar. His age is approx 6-8 yrs old. I found him in the knick of time last May, nearly dead. My vet and I worked for 4 hours to shave him and tend to his wounds. He had been attacked by multiple dogs and was fully dehydrated when I got to him with flies laying eggs in his open wounds. He is almost fully recovered and is such a love.
My hospice dogs are:
Molli - Shih Tzu - 13 years old. She has horrible skin problems and her previous owner did nothing in 10 years to help her. She has been a struggle and lots of money with various vets, but she has improved tremendously although still needs help.
Griffin - Shih Tzu - 14 years old. He was dropped off at my vet to be put to sleep when his owner had to move into a nursing home. My vet refused to do it so the owners turned him over and I brought him home. He has lost his vision but does great.
Peli - Bichon - 8 years old. He spent the first 7 1/2 years of his life locked up in a plastic airline crate. His owners didn't like him and although they let their other 2 dogs out to run around, Peli was kept locked up. He came to me grossly obese in December and is now fully recovered. He looks great and aside from some yeast issues on his back legs he feels great too!
Little Ricky - Pomeranian - Age unknown approx 8 years. He is our newest member. I got word from my vet that he was turned in as a stray, but unadoptable because he had a terrible temperament as well as having had a full out heart attack a few days after he arrived at the clinic. He is adjusting and doing great here in my pack.
That's it. Hope it didn't bore you to death. I just love to yap about my kids!
