Obedience Classes...

How many of you brought your dog to obedience classes and what did you think of the class?

Lacie. Jazzy and Rex have been to obedience classes and they loved it, as did I. Not only did I learn a lot but I had an incredibly fun time. Rex had never been socialized so the classes were terrific for him. Now I am bringing Keisha and Zoe.

They both go to a group class 2-3 times a week, and have privates before or afterwards. They love it. They're maybe a smidge spoiled with the ridiculous amount of training they get, but.... meh. My only hobby is training and showing dogs.

Out of the five dogs we have owned, we have trained them all without classes. We are thinking of getting into obedience competitively so in that case we will take that particular dog to class, but otherwise we've been very successful on our own. =)

Out of all the dogs I've had, only Heidi has been to an OB class. She was 7 months old and I took her mainly for socialization, but did gain knowledge for myself as well.

Heidi is the first of all my dogs that I felt would benefi from outside training...and it was well worth it.
