    TGIF 5-16-14

All the clutter on the home page is annoying.

Yesterday was spent buried in Amex at work, so now trying to finish up the rest of the stuff. So many demands, so little time.

DS was supposed to take me to lunch yesterday as a belated Mother's Day gift, but had worked midnights 3 days in a row and fell asleep, completely missing lunch time. We're going to try again today.

Cold here this morning, about 34 degrees. I guess our summer is over.

GingerD goes to acupuncture Monday after work.

Hope everyone is well. Back to the grind.

I click the "Discussion Forums" button right away, so I can avoid "the grid".

I'm glad it's Friday, seems like this week has taken forever.  A group of us normally go to a little pizza shop on Friday's for lunch, but I was just told yesterday they closed :(  really stinks b/c they had the BEST pizza around here.

Hoping the weather cooperates this weekend so we can finish the kids dresser and Hannah's headboard.

Tina, fingers crossed that the acupuncture will help GingerD

I too hope the acupuncture helps GingerD.  Tina, 34 in May is crazy even for MI.  We were a little warmer this morning than the last few days.  Today is going to be beautiful and so is the weekend.

Taking my cousin to the farmer's market tomorrow.  It should be fun since the market is celebrating their 5 year anniversary.  She's never been to this farmers market so I think she's in for a surprise.  This isn't just a bunch of vendors with veggies and stuff.  It's a destination. :)   Beautiful location on the river with lots of restaurants and vendors that prepare great food, on site.  I'm hungry just thinking about it.

Steph, I need to go look at your pics.  I've probably seen some of them on FB but that won't stop me from enjoying them again.  Good luck with your projects this weekend.

That farmer's market sounds wonderful to me!  It got cold here too, and supposed to get down to 41 tonight.  Ick...turn the heat back on?

My MIL's visit was a total disaster.  She was not feeling well and got progressively worse...not eating or drinking, etc.  At 91, I was worried and took her to urgent care, then the next night they sent her to the ER.  She was admitted for 5 days for possible heart problem but turned out to be almost kidney failure from dehydration, seemed better and came home.  She was due to fly back to VT on Sunday, and I reluctantly let her go because I knew she should be there with her own doctors.  After a few days there, she was back in the hospital with the same thing.  They got her straightened out but then she fell in the shower and hurt her back.  Oy vey!   Last I heard she was supposed to be sent to rehab.  When does the Tikki Bar open?

2 of my grandkids have a preschool program tonight, and I am looking forward  to it.  3 yr old Jack...one never knows what to expect from him!

Yea it's Friday!   It was a crazy work and weather week.  36 this morning in Northwest AR, we have had  night temps in the 30's all week with last night being the lowest.  All my roses and iris are blooming and it's so cold I am afraid they will frost.

The boys are enjoying the cool temps.  Ron said all the neighborhood dogs were playing at our house the one day it wasn't raining this week.  I wondered how come the boys were knocked out on the Living room floor when I got home from work :)   He said it was so fun, Hot, Rock, Yoda the Shitzu, Cooterbill the Jack Russel, Pella the Great Pir,  Jasper the golden mix, and 2 new white fluffy dogs that I do not know their name yet, lol!

He had a talk with the boys later....told them that if they were gonna have friends over, they should check with him 1st so he will know how many treats to bring out, lol!

Have a great weekend all...gotta run..back to work

GingerP, nice to hear from you.  The image of the doggy playgroup is great!  I love watching happy dogs romp together.

Steph, I do the exact same thing -- immediately click on Discussion Forms when I get to the site.  I refuse to wade through that mess of photos and graphics that aren't in any kind of topic order or anything.  Yes, that's me, the old complaining fart!  Anyway, I'm going to go look at your pic thread -- I'm not on FB, so I like when people post pics here!

We have some awesome farmers' markets in the valley, but nothing like what yours sounds like, Jackie.  Wow!

Marty, I'm so sorry to hear your MIL's visit was so stressful.  It seems I hear so often that elderly people get very dehydrated and then have disastrous problems because of it.  I guess you can't force someone to drink enough, and it's not like they'd hook someone up to an IV when they're not hospitalized, right?  I hope she stabilizes.  It sure stinks to get old.

No more heat or sun here -- grey skies, with rain due in this evening.  Rainy all weekend they say, but sun returns just in time for us to go to work Monday.  Isn't that nice of Mother Nature?!

    Tiki bar, here we come!

That farmer's market does sound amazing.  Every time you talk about going to one it makes me think I should check out the one by us, but I never seem to actually make it happen.

I almost forgot, I was going to share my creepy experience this morning.  Right now Hannah and Aaron share a room and we have a baby monitor in our room in case he starts crying.  4:51 this morning I'm woken up by the sound of a little girl singing coming through the monitor.  My guess is that Hannah was singing in her sleep, but wow I could write I pretty decent horror story around that.

Marty, I hope your MIL doesn't have to spend too long in rehab.

    Dog party @ GingerP's :D

    • Gold Top Dog

The sound of a little girl singing in the wee hours of the morning? Definitely something out of a Twilight Zone episode or horror movie!  I wouldn't have been able to fall back to sleep!

So I just got an email from someone about a change of address for a vendor we both use. The email says the address is in Carlsbad, CA.  I reply to thank her for the info, and I say something like, "I hope they're all okay - that's where the wildfires are."  She responds, "I didn't know about the fires.  How scary!"

Seriously, is it possible someone (who is about 40) would be that unaware of a fairly major news story?  She's in Oregon, it's not like she's in a foreign country.  I know I'm a bit of a news junkie and lots of people do more productive things with their time than watch TV or listen to the radio, but I can't imagine living in that much of a vacuum.  She uses a computer, so does she not read headlines on the internet?  Maybe it's just me, but I was baffled!

Marty,I'm so sorry your MIL has had so many problems lately.  I hope she gets out of rehab soon. How stressful for you and her whole family.

Tiki Bar !  I'm already there, in spirit. :)

Tracy, I'm amazed at how many people don't follow any current events.

We are very lucky to have such a cool farmers market.  Every week, there's a different live band that plays outside.  It's so fun to watch the young kids dancing to the music. :)   They have cooking demonstrations every week and those are always fun.   I wish you guys could all meet us there tomorrow.  We can get some great margaritas too. :)
