They are very cute, but a tough breed, very independent and need a lot of exercise and training, but a great dog for the right person. Smallest Spitz breed used for hunting.

Great info Michele, I think that there isn't enough information about the Shiba out there for the novice dog owner. They are definitely more work than they seem. I do have to say, I do love that Bully face! :)

To often people choose a dog for the wrong reasons, its great to watch and go to show to meet the dogs and the breeders, owners and handlers to learn and educate yourself as much as you can, before you get a dog.

I must admit I have already peeked at the Westminster site and watched the Sheltie Breed ring results.  Now I hope I can stay up long enough to watch them in the Group ring.
