How did you choose a name for your pet dog??

Jazzy was named by my daughter. She named her Jazira after a horse on the movie, Hidalgo, and calls her Jazzy.

Lacie (Woodland's Princess Lacie) - I just liked the name.

Keisha (Woodland's Sunny Caniche) - Caniche means poodle so we thought that was kind of cute.  And with her light color and sunny personality, the sunny just fit.

Rex (Woodland's Royal Rex) - I just liked the name Rex.  To see Rex is to see royalty - he is just so elegant and holds his head high and proud like a royal.

Zoe (Woodland's Splash of Color) - Zoe is a parti-colored poodle, hense the 'splash of color'. But we call her Zoe because it means life and she is just full of life!

Jasmine because on our way homef rom the dog show I had picked her up from we were all beyond rumpled.... a tornado had ripped through the show site tearing up our rv , we looked like duct tape hillbillies !!  At a rest stop I stood looking at her, all sass and fire... and the scent of wild Jasmine filled the area... It is a scent I will always associate with joy and adventure.

Miranda started out as Mirandized... her registered name is Bwana's Law and Order she was there by my side as I went through chemo , she and her father would find the spots that hurt the worst and curl into them pressure and heat biofeed back ...being a liver we knew she would be full of herself so being read her rights would be part of life with Miranda...

Phelan , my daughter's boy is cletic for Wolf  Bwana's Warrior of Olde

Kota our New York Boy is Bwana's Dacota  

Mtzee was a name chosen by my MIL she remembered the only dog she had every had over 50 years before and wanted a pup named in her memory, I made it as African looking as I could sine Mitzy just really did not fit her,  And that became Misdemeanor  when we found she was an accomplished shop lifter as a puppy , The Hubs and friends would walk behind the girl and my other friends and he would pay for anything I missed Bwana's It Takes A Thief

Dreamer is Bwana's Champagne Dreams we celebrate every win and accomplishement with champange in our kennel.

Caine is Bwana's Winds Out Of Africa  living in Hurricane Alley it is bad luck to acutally name you dog etc after a storm.

Zion is named for the most spiritual place we have ever been,  Southridge Bwana Natl Treasure.

Nemo another boarding pup we are training is Diamond Shot Through The Heart , but his new dad wanted a name children would relate to ...

All of  our dogs weather bred by us or brought for our kennel are all named with Bwana in the name it is a Blessing from the first RR we ever had it was his name meaning friend and boss. He was all of that

Bonita of Bwana

Lex's full name is Lexington Steele. I first heard of it when my husband's ( then boyfriend) friend was using it as an alias ( As on video games or prank calling, younger are into those types of things ya know). So then many years down the road I was on the way to get Lex and I said to my best friend I am going to name him Lexington Steele. I also found out many years later that is the name of an adult film star....go figure. But besides that I think it fits him very nicely.

I had the name Joey picked out before I even found my new baby.  But after finding my boy, I knew it was meant to be as it fit him perfectly.  He's red and bouncy like a baby kangaroo plus he has lots of those duh moments like the Friends character.

We look at a U.S. map book of the states.  Obviously there is a huge variety of cities and towns.  We always find a cool name for pets that way.

I would choose a name by personality or by what they love to do.
