Getting a dog or adding another dog to your home?

Where do you get them from, a pet store, a breeder or a rescue. Why?

I volunteer for several rescues so my obvious answer is rescue. However, i understand not everyone wants a rescue or is a good fit for a rescue. In those cases I will push a responsible, reputable breeder who works their dogs and does proper health testing to ofa and cerf and also temperment tests. I personally will in the future purchase from a reputable breeder. I never suggest a back yard breeder, puppy mill or petstore.

I'm a fan of rescue too. But there are still people out there who go to breeders, I guess just educate yourself and make sure to find a reputable one. But I will always recommend a rescue or shelter dog.

We just got a rescue who had become sick and abandoned by his owner. Personally I am a little unsure if I can agree (for myself at the very least) with buying a dog - when there are so many beautiful dogs who are euthanized. But I think education is key as I LOVE DOGS says above.

Well, i am preferred to have two dogs maximum. so, you will take care of them easily without disturbing your work schedule. if you have more time for care. thats good...
