Dog training
  • There are so many issues and technical terms when you start thinking about training your new puppy. There's puppy school, "potty" and house training, dog obedience, puppy socialization - there are so many things to think about, dog training (and even owning a dog) can be seen to be difficult and confusing.  But it doesn't need to be. Like the Chinese proverb, a journey of a thousand miles starts with just one step - and so it is with dog training. You need to get started, you need to know just a few important steps and you need patience.
  • Yes, you shouldn't worry about all of those products and services.  I mean if you can afford them then that's great, but your dog needs love first of all.  Then physically, he needs food, health care, and a comfy place to hang out and sleep.  He also needs to be kept clean and be potty trained to pooch pads or to go outside.  After that, the other stuff is extra and should be fun, not stressful!

  • I read a qutoe by the dog whisperer that I liked-

“Discipline (training) isn't about showing a dog who's boss; it's about taking
responsibility for a living creature you have brought into your world.”

Much like a newborn, I think. I try to use a SIMILAR approach in training my dogs, that I would use to teach a child.
