Hi, there. I just wanted to send you a quick note about radiation treatment. We didn't do it for thyroid cancer, but our Boston Terrier, Potsie, had radiation treatment for a Grade II mast cell tumor that was removed from his groin area (highly malignant site) with dirty margins. He had daily doses for 21 days (a month, basically, with weekends off). He sailed right through it with no problems at all. He had to be anesthetized daily, so the main side effect was that he was usually still groggy

Whatever it is, it can wait until Monday. The photos a bit blurry, but I can see that it's round and red. I would definitely get it checked out (as you are doing). Even the doctor won't be able to tell what it is by just looking at it. My dogs have had a history of mast cell tumors. They can look like this or alot of other, more benign skin lesions. The point is that, if it were my dog, I would insist that they try to take a needle aspirate while you're there on Monday. It's the only

Hi, Paula. First off, I just wanted to let you know that I'm so sorry to read about your dog's diagnosis. I have two dogs that have history of mast cell tumors, so I can relate to what you're going through. With our one pug we just had the tumors completely excised with clean margins as they popped up and she lived a perfectly normal life and ultimately died of something unrelated. Hers were all grade II tumors. With our other dog, he had one fairly large Grade II mast cell tumor under
