Re: AIHA or IMHA

Jennifer, I am so sorry you had to go through this twice. I lost my little schnauzywow in August to IMHA and I know how awful you feel. You did the right thing and I'm glad you got to be there in the end. We just got 2 new Schnauzers in September and they are great. We still miss our boy, but the new energy of the pups really helped us mend. You guys sound like you truly cared and did the best you could. Having moved forward I can tell you there will come a day when you stop remembering your

HOORAY!!!

Re: AIHA or IMHA

I'm glad to hear that every one seems to be headed in the RIGHT direction. I pray for each and every one of you every day. You guys seem to be making the right choices, I hold my breath when I see a new post. I would be happy to talk to anyone if they need support, if anyone needs to talk, please send me a message and I will get my phone # to you. Keep up the good work, because each day you get with them is a blessing!

Re: AIHA or IMHA

If I could give any advice to those of you going through this. First, take nothing lightly, there are so many side effects. Listen to the breathing, fluid in the lungs is very common. In fact my vet lost his dog as well to IMHA with fluid in the lungs just like Shanny. My boy’s PCV was all the way back to like 25! It didn't matter, he couldn't breathe. I still remember checking him back in at the ER that morning and he groaned and went limp in my arms. I started jumping around saying “What

Re: AIHA or IMHA

Thank you for your thoughts! I really believe that you may have a good chance at success here. I read an article when Shanny was sick that most that pass do it in the first 10 days. Keep fighting and stay on it, I know it's work and draining, but at least you get more time. Remeber this disease is not painfull, you are doing all the right things. You should be proud of yourself, it makes you stronger as a person!

Re: AIHA or IMHA

Thank you so much, it has been over 4 months now and is finally getting a little better. We do have 2 new Schnauzer pups that seem to be wonderfull! Thanks for your thoughts, it means a lot to us!

Re: AIHA or IMHA

I know I have checked like 10 times today, I hope everything is good!

Re: AIHA or IMHA

Hi I have read the thread top to bottom and feel for all involved. I know EXACTLY what you are going through right now Mike. Unfortunately I was one of the unlucky owners. I wish I had this support in August. This brought back a lot of sad sad memories. I will post his memorial below that I posted on another site about a week after he passed. My prayers are with you! Hang in there! Mr. Shanahan was a Miniature Schnauzer. He was the best dog in the world. Friendly, Smart, Sweet, and a great companion

Re: AIHA or IMHA

Yeah i hear ya on the 1000000 little things. He wagged his tail until his final breath. I was obsessive with watching him and wouldnt even leave to go to the market. However, in his case it was just so severe that all invlolved said that we couldn't have done more. Fluid in the lungs was the determineing factor, but I'm pretty sure it could of easily of been something else. Just my luck you know:) I just wish I could have 1 more day with him, but I guess it's never enough now is it?
