Re: Driven to Cheat?
I was thinking about this after reading the Jon and Kate thread, but didn't want to hijack it.... Do you believe that a spouse can be driven to cheat by their partner, or is that just an excuse for betrayal?
A partner can be made unhappy or unsatisfied by the actions or non-actions of their loved one, but cheating (physical infidelity) is an action taken by choice. No one can take over your brain or body and MAKE you do something dishonorable. You

Re: chemical-free ways to repel/kill roaches?

I love DE. It was the only thing that cleared out the infestation of humpback crickets I had under my house and in my shed. Good luck!

Re: sooo I got my hair dyed...

I like both. I usually take my hair light in the summer and dark in the winter, but you probably need to give you hair a break after all the processing. I'd stay with what you have now for at least 3 months. My son wanted blonde hair one year (he has practically black hair) and dummy me thought we could do it at home. Cost us $150 to fix it, lesson learned.

Re: Pain Management Help - Please!

I can't offer much other than personal experience. Indie was dx'ed by more than one vet with severe arthritis in his back hips. Hydrotherapy and the addition of turmeric and ginger and glucosamine over a 12-16 week period made a dramatic difference and when he went for a recheck they said there way NO sign of arthritis or crepitus in his joints. Whether he actually had arthritis or was experiencing a temporary issue is up for debate, but for safety's sake, he's on daily doses of ginger

Re: Anyone about to order Verizon FIOS in the next month??

^^^ Me too! I switched and love it! I recently bundled services, upped my internet speed and saved $10 per month. I was able to add premium channels too. I've experienced basically no problems other than a dead router in about a year of service. Go for it!!!

Re: Money saving ideas (mrstjohnson)

I stopped buying bottled water and switched to a large in-frig Pur water filter. I pack a lunch for work everyday to compensate for the gas money it costs me to get there. I'm cooking much, much more than I used to. I'm using Costco to it's best advantage. I changed up my TV/internet package and actually saved $10 per month and was able to add premium channels by bundling my package of services. Returning to work has increased my costs in work clothes for the courtroom and doggie daycare

Re: VERY interesting and effective technique to stop pulling.

The Sensation Harness didn't work on Woobie AT ALL. I was going to try the Easy Walker, but discovered the wedgie method. Same sort of principle, but a different body part affected -- hehe. Woobie hates it and will walk nicely just to keep the leash from making its way into his nether regions. Yes, I'm evil. It's sad what a persistent puller will drive you to.

Re: What *type* of bones that don't break/chip teeth???

I've had good luck with raw beef rib bones BUT I always supervise. More because Indie, my power chewer, gets through them very quickly and then can split them lengthwise to get at the marrow. That's the point where I take them away because I worry about choking. They've done a good job at keeping Indie's teeth sparkly white and Woobie's getting cleaner and cleaner. He had alot of tartar from when he was on kibble. Now he just has left over stains. He doesn't chew like Indie

Re: Huge tail tangle!

That would probably work. I've had to work out big matts in Indie's hellacious coat and a good spray down with EFA Bath Oil and patience with a steel comb worked wonders. Good luck! Matts suck!

Re: Is there such thing as an inexpensive wedding?

I married on a budget, back in the day. Typed my own announcements on plain white cards, had a family friend do the cakes, had the guests bring a potluck dish, we got to rent a hall at a military discount, got a really cheap dress, etc. Liquor was pretty cheap in Germany and we had a set amount, when it was gone, it was gone. Couple cases of german beer and about 10 bottles of wine and several cases of soda did us just fine. We had a friend do pics, it was very, very cheap. We were POOR. We'd
