Re: AIHA or IMHA

Hello Everyone, Someone asked me to come on here and give and update on Lily. She is doing GREAT. We stopped all of her meds and she is back to her normal self, weight and eating. I am very happy. Please everyone if your dog has this, keep your spirits high and they will feel it. Good luck!

Re: AIHA or IMHA

Hello Everyone! Please excuse my delay in response. I am very new to this whole forum thing and I just forget about it. GratefulDawg, I am so sorry to hear that your little one is going through this issue but happy that they are doing better. My little girl was diagnosed on Dec. 13th. So right around the same time as yours and a day before my birthday. Lily is doing much better. Her PCV was 26 the last time that we checked. Her liver function is great and there were no signs of damage from the pred

Re: AIHA or IMHA

Sorry it took me so long to reply. Lily is doing great! She has another check up today to try and lower her dose of predisone. Thank you guys for responding. I have gotten so much information and she seems like she will recover from this! I will update after her appointment tonight! Wish us luck!

Re: AIHA or IMHA

My 5 year old female dog, Lily was recently diagnosed with this. For the past few days she has been on 40mg a day of prednisone. The vet said that she will not require a transfusion and that it is moving slowly because her body is fighting it. What were your dogs PCV levels at when he got the transfusion. Lily is at 13% now and the vet said that he only does it if levels are below 10%. Thank you for all the information that you gave!

Re: AIHA or IMHA
Pirate had a similar auto-immune disorder - not quite as severe as IMHA but close. Pirate and I will keep Lily in our prayers - immune-mediated diseases are so so nasty. I hope she's feeling better soon!
Thank you very much! We need all the prayers we can get!

AIHA or IMHA

Has any of your dogs been diagnosed with this? If so, what was the outcome?
