Just stopped in to say hello. Been away for awhile. Things have been crazy and stressful here. For those who remember me, both Gunnar and Hektor are well. We also now have Charles who is a Blue Heeler, Australian Shepherd mix (although he looks like a border collie to me). He is living with us because his "mom" is being stalked by a nut case and she cannot keep him at this time. Our son finished his basic training and is now stationed in Fort Lewis. He is training hard and getting ready

My youngest son and I just got back from Georgia where we were able to spend three days with my oldest son. He looks good, he is in great health, has grown six inches and is doing very well. His injury is completely healed and is giving him no problems. He will graduate 12/18/08 but only has three weeks of hard training left, the last two weeks are pretty mellow. Thanks again to everyone for their prayers

Well the latest news is good. He is with a company of National Guard and he is the only active duty person in his group. He says the training is a lot easier than in his past company. He was sick with a fever of 104 and he was coughing up blood and as it turns out the blood was due to a burst blood vessel in his throat from all the coughing. We spoke to him yesterday and he says he is over the sickness and things are going well. I just booked tickets to fly out and see him for his weekend pass in

Gunnar will bark until told to be quiet but he always greets everyone with the wiggle butt, I want to be your friend look. I have only seen him growl at two people in his life, one was a sparklets water man and the other a young teen who reeked of pot, otherwise Gunnar has always loved everyone even people I do not care for much. Hektor has to be closely monitored with strangers, he greets them all with suspicion, hair up, a low rumble growl that grows in size and stature, he does not bark, I normally

I think he was guilty of the murders. He ran away with a bag full of cash which IMO points to guilt, why else would he run? When told of the murders of his wife he did not ask the officers about his children, IMO that would have been the first question asked of a normal parent. You know your kids are with your ex wife, someone murders your ex-wife, your first question should be "what about my kids, are they ok?". He never asked that question. It is about time he is getting his just rewards

We got a letter today from our son. He is going to be able to stay in the Army and continue his training. He is very happy. We do not yet know all the details, only that he will be staying and he will continue in the Infantry. Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts.

I am very proud of them both and I am very thankful for the "leave it" command which probably saved Hektor from being bitten, he ran right at the snake but when it rattled and I saw it I screamed "leave it" at the top of my lungs, grabbed Gunnar who was still next to me inside. Although Hektor did not disengage instantly he hesitated enough and stayed back from the snakes strike range. Leave it is a good command. What is funny is both dogs are now a little freaked out. After all

My son took this picture through the patio glass just before the snake was shot. My foot would have been landing just to the right of where this guys head is in the picture. I would have been about 6 to 8 inches away from him. He was right up near the glass and just next to where the patio door opens.
