What does bonded/insured mean for dog walkers?

My dog walker is through an agency that is bonded & insured. I've used them for over a year with the same walker. Now my walker is saying she would charge me less if I just went with her, excluding the agency. Since she's not bonded & insured what does this mean for me & my dog??

Re: Hypoallergenic treats

I was almost at the 2month mark of the elimination diet. However I let my dog stay at the dog walkers house for a day, and the dog walker said her dad gave my dog a piece of liver. *I told her she shouldn't be given any food, except the treats I provided. Will this thow a dent in my efforts?

Re: dog ate wild mushroom - should I be worried???

Thank goodness she threw up herself, but I'm gonna write that info about the hydrogen peroxide on the fridge - thanks All her other tests came back negative thank goodness. I'm just surprised how expensive bloodwork/exam at the emergency vet was $430

dog ate wild mushroom - should I be worried???

My bf took my dog (13lbs) for a walk this afternoon where she picked up a mushroom & ran away from him, he couldn't tell if she ate it or not. Now 3 hours later she threw up a lot of brown stuff (4 times) and some mucus like stuff. Should I be worried?? Are all wild mushrooms poisonous? She just drank a lot of water, but she still seems out of it. What sign should I look for that mean I should take her to a doctor?

Re: dog ate wild mushroom - should I be worried???

I just took her out to walk thinking she would have diaharrea, but all she wanted to do was play. Now she just scarfed down her dinner........I'm so confused. Did the vomitting help her? Does Kidney/liver failure sneak up on a dog or would it be happening now?? My vet said to wait & observe her for a while.

Re: dog ate wild mushroom - should I be worried???

Thanks for all the tips. I decided to go to the Emergency vet. They did all her bloodwork and said everything looks fine. Her vitals were also fine. I have to call back tomorrow to check the liver & kidney panels that they sent out. So hopefully we're in the clear. She still seems exhausted though.....

Hypoallergenic treats

I just started my dog on Natural Balance allergy formula (potatoe & duck) dog food to see if her diet is the cause of her allergies, so she'll be on this for the next 2 months. The Natural balance treats allergy formula are very hard & my dog isn't crazy aobut them. Does anyone know of any hypoallergenic soft dog treats? Since the treats might not come from Natural balance is it pointless to give them to her since it will be different ingredients which we're trying to avoid??

Re: Hypoallergenic treats

they only come in lamb, beef & turkey. They don't say they're hypoallergenic and there's lots of ingredients in them. So I just want to understand (this is my first time dealing with allergies) that since her main food is now potato & duck, her treats have to of that same make-up??

Re: Hypoallergenic treats

[quote user="cakana"] I agree that you probably don't want to try any other treats (unless you could find plain duck) since they might contain something that could cause a problem. I feed the NB Duck and Potato to Sassy and I use both the dry and the canned. It might be worth experimenting with taking a can and making small mounds on a cookie sheet and baking them. Not so long that they get hard and crunchy, but more like the consistency of a cookie. When I did the true elimination

Dog park issue: am I overreacting

Today at the dog park, my dog who is spayed kept getting humped by a neutered male. My dog is very submissive and snapped at him a few times (which she never does), but he would have such a strong hold on her that sometimes she was just standing there looking helpless awaiting for me to pull her away from him. After she snapped at him a few times she would run away with her tail tucked in & the dog would go chasing her. She would show a growly face, but she was not agressive enough to ward him
