Shack- we got him from mom's co-worker who could sell him and was on his way to take him to the pound. He was a 'purebred' GSD who happened to have floppy ears and a long coat and a retriever like head. Hmmm..... we think dad was a travelling salesman. Pete- we got him from a working labrador breeder Rosie- Sheltie, we got her from a BYB. Nikki- Sheltie, also from a BYB. Trey- Sheltie from a show/sport breeder at a year old. As far as spaniels go, Tibetan spaniels aren't true spaniels at all and are closer related to pugs and pekingese only they're built a bit more moderately. Papillons are sort of pseudo- spaniels in that they have a lot of spaniel lineage but also most likely have spitz and who knows what else in there. Neither one in my opinion has a typical spaniel personality. Tibbies are a lot more independent and low key whereas paps are a bit ramped up from the other toy spaniels based on my experience

Paps are different than tibbies. Tibbies have zero spaniel in them, the name is a complete misnomer. I have no idea why they were named spaniels at all. Paps have mostly spaniel in them but likely also have spitz too. It depends on who you talk to, but there's a lot of evidence that poms or other small spitz made their way into the breed even though some people wish to say they're 100% the original toy spaniel. (But then you'd have to believe the erect ears came from nowhere. also double

They're very smart and intuitive like shelties only they seem MUCH less prone to being overly reactive and fearful. My crew goes everywhere with me and they love it. Basically wherever you are, they want to be and they don't care what you're doing. Mine have sat through 2 hour meetings just fine and they love to go out walking or hiking too, but they're fine being couch potatoes if you want

I can't believe I forgot Tibbies! I LOVE tibbies, my absolute favorite little dog after paps. They're great. As far as paps and energy goes it would depend. Rose, Nard, and Mia (yes I did say Mia) are all great and calm in 'boring situations'. Mia still has to wind down a bit but after a few minutes she settles into my lap and just chills. Nard and Rose completely just go with the flow, they're incredibly mellow in that aspect. Summer is so so but sometimes gets too excited at

The only two I really feel I HAVE to have that I haven't are at least one phalene and at least one border collie, although I figure I'll have more than one bc in my life. Hopefully the border collie will come in a few years time. I almost got one this past year but ended up somehow with another pap (doesn't that always happen?)
